And the lame stream media is just figuring this out now? Quagmire has the most secretive government since the old Soviet Union, and is rapidly approaching North Korea's levels of media control.

The reporter- Downie seemed to assume that Obama's pledge of transparency was sincere- which suggests that he may not exactly be the brightest bulb in the box and may be little more than a useful idiot. I do not give those who rank high in the editorial departments of these rags the same benefit of doubt- it is too damned obvious that the O-team is transparency's antithesis and the fawning press is very complicit in aiding its crimes by furnishing cover. Morrissey picks up on that... I personally believe that Downie may be laying some groundwork for plausible deniability with this bit:
"Will Obama recognize that all this threatens his often-stated but unfulfilled goal of making government more transparent and accountable? None of the Washington news media veterans I talked to were optimistic."
I have some difficulty believing that someone whose line of work is reporting is unable to grasp the true nature of what's at hand- though to be fair if one chooses a career path where the rules gradually change over time where the job becomes less and less actual reporting and more propagandizing the ignorance may be willful and self serving. The administration wouldn't so easily get away with being as opaque as they are without the cooperation of rags like the Times. Much of this country's fourth estate needs to be co-defendants- which would be reason enough for them to continue protecting the criminal in chief.
Right on the mark. The naive media types like him actually believed this guy's BS from the start. Of course, he and people like him work for media leaders who knew exactly what the deal was from the start? As I said above, the revelations will come out when it is too late to save the republic from the Cloward-Piven strategy that is being executed.

A guy a couple of weeks ago said that on Fox and that possibly Obama voter chick Harris Faulkner (?) gave him a bad look. I haven't seen her in a while after that. Did anyone see that? He made a good point that perhaps the fighting will in the end yield a phyrric victory and she gave him this awful look like he was proselytizing and she was going to just stick to the script when he confronted her looking at him like that. I thought that was pretty b*tchy of her. Again haven't seen her in a while. He had a right to his opinion and commentary and it was astute and to the point at hand.
