The room's resident Behemoth Hag started a rousing circle-jerk of "Oh that's awful! That's not gonna do him any good!" like everyone just LOVES the whiney-whine percent. She's so far gone, even some of the OTHER leftards I'm incarcerated with laugh at her behind her back!

I think Obama and the blue city mayors decided that OWS was becoming a liability. Ordinary working people were getting tired of the noise, filth and disruption while Democrat politicians (who had initially embraced the demonstrations) realized that things were getting nasty and even the MSM was losing patience with the Occubots.
So the mayors acted while Obama was conveniently out of town (somewhere in Asia or Hawaii) and out of the picture.
Both sides will claim victory and things should quiet down as winter weather sets in and the Occubots and their handlers reconsider strategy. I think things will heat up again when the Presidential conventions convene next year. This is just a temporary setback for the Left which is well funded (by Soros, unions and rich leftists) and never, never quits.
100% agree with you. I live in Tampa and the GOP convention will be here. I plan to join counter protests that arise in response to any leftist demonstrations. It will be glorious.

Hmm. Food for thought. Possibly the good cop/bad cop shtick combined with bet-hedging? This way Sock Puppet can say, "Hey they wouldn't have dared do that to you if I was in town!" if there's any negativity, but still claim credit for being in charge if there's enough good feeling about it.
Unless of course, the mayors were deliberately cutting him out, to be on the safe side themselves, the way DoD did when the 6ers got Socky's hero.
