  • Uhm... is anyone else bothered by the fact that this light displayed was prepped and ready? Almost as if they knew this would happen? And how did they know? I mean it takes more than a few hours to prep such an intricate and professionally done light display on ANY building of that scale. That is really troubling to me. Let's add the fact that he had invited guests at the White House this week to celebrate the Alphabet Guild's awesomeness. Interesting... n'est-ce pas?

      This is the world's status by country. Obviously it's a western nation thing, but so is low reproductive rates - right where they truly ought to be higher in order to keep actual western civilizations going.

      I mean, it's nice that highly educated people and the spoiled are too busy enjoying themselves... but we know what happened to Rome while their self-congratulatory period was in full swing. They were also indefensible.

      As if other nations weren't observing us and would be much too polite to take advantage...

  • i thought a good long time on this and the events the entire past week and while each group that got their gimme's blessed were happy to be at the receiving end of good fortune, what for all their hard work (protesting and funding lawyers and demonizing, etc, for years which i guess counts as hard work) i came to the conclusion that - agreeable to the verdicts or not - many of us just plain DO NOT ASK FOR GIMME'S from the government b/c we slug along helping our own selves get thru school, move up the ladder in work, pay bills, stick to marriages, raise kids, buy & care for our properties and investments, etc, etc, etc, while trying not to deliberately take from anyone else's plate.

    I don't hate any of these groups, tho i do hate their tactics and that they don't mind if someone else does get hurt so long as those are the same hardworking groups whom they feel can continue to carry the rest of the bunch. Now - i am being very general about that, but it does pretty much work that way.

    If it were only about the specific issue of equality, i don't begrudge that from anyone. But we know it's way more than that. It's the ability to litigate the crap out of everything and anything from the moment these verdicts are handed down.

    For the everyday jane & joe who doesn't pay much attention to detail, they of course will consider anyone objecting to their cause to be haters. Add to that the fact - THE ABSOLUTE FACT - that this POTUS likes to rub in salt into wounds of the American public is what i find the MOST DISTURBING thing about him and his administration.

    I am not a discriminator. I am not a hater. I am not bigoted, racist, or feel any friggen way supreme to any other living being. But i do OBJECT to the attitude and optics of this deliberately spiteful person at the WH.

    I just want to apologize to you nice people here. I understand your frustration, b/c i share a lot of those with you. It's as if we don't ask for things given to us, so therefore everyone else does, until all the money's gone and we're holding the bag... as usual.

    Reading about Greece and the left's comments about their situation is LIVING PROOF that a nation could be on the brink of implosion, and those who want gimme's are committed to their ideology and continue to stay the course of their economic and social errors, regardless.

    However - i will also say this:
    I truly believe this admin doesn't care if it draws the right into an open battle, an attempt at an armed revolt, b/c it would serve their purposes once & for all. Not only would i fear the military would back the Admin, but also that elements in this country would take HUGE advantage of that chaos. It's as if they set up all the ducks in a row for insurance reasons. No matter what, they are gonna win b/c even if the country is destroyed, it'd be the revenge they were looking for, finally.

    His idea of the constitution is if it isn't what he considers "the right thing to do" then it simply just isn't and he moves to "do the right thing" whatever that means to him and his clueless belligerents.

    If my lefty friends troll and read this remark, just know that i catch you all in very hateful speech about the people you accuse of hatreds b/c i have been around you all long enough to know. There are plenty of you on the left that are hateful and spiteful for no other reason than that's part of your dispirited, discontented, ungrateful personalities and nothing else. Being LEFT doesn't automatically make you correct or innocent, either.

    Sorry, IHTM readers. I have not slept well past few days hoping things remain calm among ourselves as citizens while emotions rage in our country. I don't know what it is we're supposed to do now to keep from sinking this ship except hope for the best in Nov 2016. Anyway, end of rant. Thanks for reading & tolerating me. G-d bless.

      • ultimately, regardless if i choose to be a certain way or was born this way it should not be anyone else's responsibility to take care of me or to show me any favoritism... outside of normal civility.

          I don't ask for anyone to show me favoritism based on my personal life, and I don't think anyone else should be looking for it either.
          As Andrew Wilkow said yesterday, if you want the government out of your bedroom, then you shouldn't be asking them to get involved in what you do in your bedroom. Asking the government for permission to exercise your rights, means you have no rights, because you need permission from the government.

          • As long as the government did not actually ruin a person's wedding or partnership celebration I don't see why gays felt they were being discriminated. They could get married to one another just fine as long as they had alternative sources of places to "marry" them. If they were looking for the assets protection, inheritance and benefits issues there are people called lawyers and places call online and library that have legal paperwork and people called notaries and things called pens and paper that all of that comes together to form all the contracts you need to ensure that the partner gets the assets that the partner should get at the time of death of one of the partners. If taxes are an issue then make sure the estate pays the taxes for the person inheriting so the person doesn't have to worry about it.

            My Mom has a will and power of attorney and life insurances. She did this to ensure that no matter what no one can come to this house (especially the government) and claim they have possession over anything that they are not supposed to get. I have a life insurance so if she survives me she can pay for end of life expenses so it doesn't have to come out of her pocket. That is because we live together and I am unmarried and I don't have a pot to piss in. She has things set up so all of her debts are paid (so I am not saddled with them) and that the taxes are paid.

            All of these papers that she and I have completed took a bit of time but not that much and in many cases not much expense (it is good to befriend a lawyer). One can say: "That seems unnecessary because you are her daughter.", but the truth of the matter is that it is very necessary and responsible thing to do. My Mom loves me and wants to make sure I am well taking care of and no one can come in and claim something for themselves that they shouldn't and it doesn't appear on the will. People can burn through money and time in probate trying to determine who gets what and a will and other documentation takes care of that.

            Point being: I did not have to marry my Mother to ensure that her property is perfectly allocated according to her wishes and my Mother didn't have to marry me in order to collect insurance. She is making sure that no one (especially the government) gets anything or more than what they have to get. The law as it stands though allows us the opportunity to do just that, but why? When government is supposed to honor contracts between people if it gets to a point where govt has to be involved without there being a marriage in the mix.

            Remember this case: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Windsor ? This whole thing is not about love... this is about taxes and benefits and not wanting to pay taxes! The dead lesbian did not do what was necessary to protect her estate from taxes or else so the partner didn't have to worry about it. So now we have to be involved in her drama and now her actions led to this decision which means that now a Father can marry his son in order to protect the son from estate taxes instead of taking additional steps to protect the estate as much as possible. The lesbian is a liberal... I thought that liberals loved to pay taxes!

            So now people with long held belief systems are at risk of paying hefty fees and having their businesses shot down and their lives up ended because the bitch did not want to pay the estate taxes that her dead partner did nothing to protect her from. Great!

      • there are plenty of nice LGBT out there and i'll even say i've met nice Muslims... even had two renters in my house at separate times who were Muslim - family men here on contract in the area. very nice guys, with the same concerns any decent westerner family person has. tons of foreigners are great people.

        it's these radical idiots that screw it up for everyone. rebels without a cause, who then are given a cause. corrupt, maligned leaders love them... like our current POTUS.

      • thank you... i'm not a fan of noisy radicals on any side. they generally are useless to society in any positive way. they unfortunately are always the militant types that any psycho/sociopatic leaders can call upon to do their destructive bidding and infect the population with discontent.

        i hate them with a passion that only G-d keeps me from physically removing them whenever i run into one such anti-civil scum. they are crude, undiplomatic, usually incapable of debating intelligently, and have no place in modern society when it comes to planning or deciding anything rational. they only know how to be a part of a fist-pumping crowd of smelly lewd drunk idiots. my grandparents warned me about them... they've seen it with the nazis and with the commies. two sides of the same coin, incapable of living in a society without constantly looking to throw monkey wrenches into things that operate decently well.

      I think that people are going to do what Laura Ingraham said a few months ago that now there will be enclaves and regions for people escaping the madness, but what stops the government from coming in with their tanks and what nots? Well this is a good reason to keep your guns and get more and enough ammunition to last until the world ends.
