• Despite being told point blank they did not want him there, he squeezed in a short visit since he was in the neighborhood already. I am sure his staff convinced him the was a not to.be missed photo op, regardless of the families' wishes. Then he sneaks (however you sneak a 5 car entourage) in the backdoor of a high school. What a great Presid e nt we have.

  • He did it because it could be called "government business" and be paid for by us taxpayers. He was going to a fundraiser for some Dimocrap candidate in Kalifornia anyway, which the DNC was supposed to pay for, and this got them off the hook for all the costs.

  • Every man and woman must serve at least two years in the military too. I have been saying for years that mandatory service would solve a lot of the youth gang problems in our country. We need to bring back the draft.

    Hi-tech military or not, someone still has to dig the slit trenches and sling the hash. If we are going to have to pay for the fools anyway, in prison or on welfare, and have to support their 5 illegitimate brats we may as well get some work out of them.

      • The only thing that worries me is that there is already evidence of gang members joining the military to get training in weapons and explosives so they can be more efficient when they are back on the streets.
        I agree with the mandatory service, but am also for seriously checking the background of the volunteers.

        • You missed the part about digging slit trenches and slinging hash. Very little weapons training needed to take care of outhouses or cooking for the troops and if there is some suspicion about a recruit that is where they can stay.

        • We could go a long way in dealing with this "problem" if we just brought back the old "Brown Boot Army" and let the cadre do their jobs. These little Marxist pukes would learn that there is no free lunch and that there ARE consequences for one's actions. It took basic training to force me to grow up! My head was forcibly removed from my ass in about seven weeks, give or take and I was nineteen at the time and I'm sixty one now. I turned out okay and I'm definitely not the liberturd my parents tried to turn me into, may God rest their souls!

        • Yep. I'm a year older than you and basic turned me around in a hurry. I was 17, wilder than a three peckered billygoat, getting into problems with the law, it was time to leave town when I joined up. My parents almost didn't recognize me 9 weeks later when I got home for a short leave, the attitude adjustment had taken hold big time.

        • That's a great point about the brown boot methods. Compulsory service during this administration would be like communist reeducation camps.

          Still, I don't think we would have people awaiting execution by a lunatic in a classroom in Oregon if we hadn't, as a society, conditioned people to think that someone else will defend them. Only one military veteran present and he ALONE tried to stop it and was shot to pieces because no one else stepped up.

        • Kids today are raised to be sheep. Hold your hands up, talk nice to a lunatic, everything will be fine. They were in a classroom. They had to have had books, IPads, shoes, backpacks, something to throw at the guy to keep him from aiming his weapon so easily. Even 10 of the kids throwing stuff, screaming and yelling while they rushed the guy would have made a big difference.

• There was a story last night that showed protesters painting signs against Obama..Sneaking in the back way, he gets to avoid the people who hate him. Kinda cowardly.
