Obama mocks Ed Henry: Do you think I want gas prices going up in an election year? We’ll answer that for Ed: Yes, you do. Actions speak louder than your empty words and all of your actions say “raise those damn prices.” But it is clear you don’t want to take responsibility for those prices. Clear enough?

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages.   • We are exporting refined fuel in record quantities. This includes gasoline

    The pricing signals are coming out of this competing demand, not only rising global Oil prices.

    I am paying more for gas because foreigners are buying more of our gas.

    Fuel was the #1 U.S. export in 2011. Doesn't that seem a bit crazy?

    • I'm no economist, but I'm thinking the way to curb this practice is to place a tax on exported petroleum products. The libs would love to collect the taxes and the oil people would have less incentive to send our resources to foreign countries that hate us.

      • Yeah I've wondered about that.. but I think its unconstitutional to tax exports (unless I missed an ammendment, precedent, or systemic abuse of Constitution by various agencies)

  • Hell, he SAID he wanted then to go up... He PROMISED it in his campaign back when he was Senator Obama. He said that "energy prices would necessarily skyrocket" under his administration. He can't go back and try and say differently now!

  • There's lies, there's damned lies and then there's Obama lies. Never, ever, believe what this man says but carefully watch what he does. Right now Obama wants gasoline prices to rise so he can campaign against "Big Oil", "big profits" and an "obstuctionist" Republican Congress.

    • If "O" really cared about gas prices, he and his family would cut back on all the trips they take flying here there and everywhere!!!
