Obama: Nation should do soul-searching over Trayvon Martin shooting. Black teen allegedly murders two white guys and not a word. Who needs do do soul-searching?

    • You mean he's not clean as the fresh snow, like the MSM makes him out to be? Whatta a shocker. Turns out he's not an innocent 10 yr old, but a 17 yr old thug.

      • Those pics of his on his FB page sure look like an angry young man, and he's quite proud of the look he has cultivated.

        • Seriously?! I am deeply dissapointed by your statement. He is an angry young man so he deserved to be shot? Where you ever a young man of 17? Did you smile and look cute on every photo you took around that age? Women are asked to smile whenever they take a photo for some reason, but I notice that men are not. Why is that? However, regardless of him not smiling and looking serene enough for you what does that have to do with this case? Zimmerman called the cops he should have waited for them instead he confronted Martin if he looked like an angry young man, why confront and not wait for the cops to do their job?

          • You're kidding me! You presume my meaning to be that he deserved to be shot because he looks angry?

Apparently my sense of fairness hasn't been established here as thoroughly as I'd thought.

Did you look at the more recent pictures?

You have misconstrued my statement. The picture of any young person sticking his middle finger of both hands out for a picture on his facebook page make him appear angry. Its easy to see he works at looking intimidating, but that doesn't warrant anything at all. Assuming I might suggest punishment of any form for something of this nature is ludicrous.

When the view of this person is more intimate, like say right after he bounces a Louisville Slugger across your head from behind then after you fall to the ground he straddles you and punches your head repeatedly, that's when he deserves to be neutralized.

          • "You’re kidding me! You presume my meaning to be that he deserved to be shot because he looks angry?"

Then why bring it up? I don't necessarily think that is what you meant, but it can come off that way indeed. There is no reason to bring the fact that he looks angry on photos in order to make some point about him not being as clean as one would have thought. The truth remains that angry or not he had no criminal records as far as it has been reported and he had no gun on him NOR tools for burglary on his person when found.

I agree that the pics of him as a child are misleading and that has already been covered.

"You have misconstrued my statement. The picture of any young person sticking his middle finger of both hands out for a picture on his facebook page make him appear angry. Its easy to see he works at looking intimidating, but that doesn’t warrant anything at all." ????

"When the view of this person is more intimate, like say right after he bounces a Louisville Slugger across your head from behind then after you fall to the ground he straddles you and punches your head repeatedly, that’s when he deserves to be neutralized." ????

            What are you talking about?

So what you are saying is that it is okay to follow someone who is not doing anything illegal, WALK UP TO THE PERSON INSTEAD OF STAYING BEHIND, confront that person, create an altercation and then they have the right to shoot the person they q'ed up for an altercation and call it self defense?

          • The media won't show any more recent pictures of Martin because they don't serve the purpose of convincing people that this was some little kid that got chased by the adult Hispanic who was an enraged gun owner that had a concealed carry permit which he was using to hunt minority youths with. Most people still think the big bad gun owner shot a little kid with candy in the back while he was trying to run away from him.

          • Don't forget, it was a "white hispanic." This site is all about the liberal hypocrisy of the mainstream media, and THAT is what we're pointing out.

          • All FDH is saying is that the media has gone out of their way to make it look like this was a sweet innocent lad, out for a stroll to get some Skittles. Maybe he was out casing houses for burglary, maybe he wasn't, we don't know. But he was NOT a ten year old child, like the media would have us believe, and like most of my liberal friends that get their news from liberal outlets DO believe. Nobody said he deserved to be shot because he was purposely putting on the appearance of a thug.

          • OMG... I have spoken to this issue already. I never stated the boy was ten and as pure as snow.

          • But the media is expressing this exact sentiment and the BDLs are lapping it up like starved puppies.

          • The event isn't manufactured, and I don't believe anyone here is saying that. Much of the response IS manufactured, and any facts that don't fit that response are left out by the mainstream media, so we have to go looking for it here.

As of right now, I have no opinion on the event, I don't have enough hard facts to go on. And if it ever sees a jury, I'm sure that exclusionary rules will keep them from seeing everything also.

          • Okay fine and that is their bag, but it is not mine. Bad on them, but I am not surprised. As I stated above to Flash, the BASE of this issue is actually the search for truth and justice. Truth of what happened and justice for a young man that did not have a lethal weapon on him nor tools of thievery on his person. The fact that the media is doing a hatchet job is of course upsetting, I am just debating that we cannot completely state that this is a manufactured event based on the facts that we do know are true. Some of us have made up our minds either way and others are waiting it out (like Flash) and that is fine too.

          • Hell I look like an angry old fart most of the time it doesn't mean I deserve to be shot or killed.

      • Actually I posted an article several weeks ago on the tips area and it stated his age and all of that. People that were following up since the beginning know what is what HOWEVER he was NOT a thug. Zimmerman followed and approached him for no reason after calling the police, Martin was walking and minding his own business. In the 911 tape it is clear that Martin was doing nothing other than walking. The operator asked him what was Martin doing or what did he do... nothing. Zimmerman was in pursuit ofa person that was doing nothing and the operator told him to stand down, Zimmerman disobeyed. We can at that point believe that he confronted Martin and Martin hit him. Zimmerman seems to be a fat ass, so that was not a fight he was going to win and hence he shot Martin. We need to see all sides of the situation and Zimmerman's own words convict him: He saw Martin walking with a hoodie, assumed he was up to no good, called the cops, the cops did not give him freedom to pursue him, the cops were already on their way, the operator ascertained that Martin was doing nothing at the time of the call, Zimmerman continued to follow. If Martin attacked him it can be because Zimmerman confronted him. He wasn't a thug, however he wasnt a little boy either.

        • A few small points; he wasn't told to stand down, it was a suggestion - not an express order - from the police phone tender, that they didn't need him to do that. He saw a tall figure walking in a manner consistent with burglary preparations.

If he was attacked by this youth and had cuts and blood about his face and head as the police reported, it is quite different from the way the media is portraying it.

          • He was told that they didnt want him to do that (follow him). It may have not been an order, but he SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED the instruction ESPECIALLY since he was TOLD to wait for the cops and he did not. Instead of driving away and meeting the cops where he should have, he went and confronted Martin.

Yes I understand he was a neighborhood WATCH person but not a neighborhood COP. He called the police and did the right thing. I actually have NO PROBLEM with that part at all. It was the right thing to do. However, he should have followed instructions he should have gone to meet the police.

I did research and some stories before this blew up does confirm that he was beaten up, however why was he beaten up when he should have gone to the gate to meet the cops? If he had gone to meet the cops and then come withthe cops to find Martin we would have not be talking about this. He went to confront Martin on his own when he was told not to follow and told to go meet the cops.

          • The police are not capable of actual proactive prevention in many situations. The majority of burglaries are not prevented by the police, rather the police react to the crime. Usually no one gets charged and the victims lose there belongings and their sense of security in their own house.

He continued to follow the tall hooded figure so he might be able to advise the police of a more precise location.

If Zimmerman actually had pursued with zeal and intent then of course he is in the very wrong. But that the police chose not to charge or even detain him isn't a signal that the cops are racist, rather that indicates there was no evidence the man did anything outside the law. The first witnesses, one of whom lives near enough to have a view of the scene from his second story window, give corroborating statements to the effect that the man was being pummeled about the head by the youth who had apparently been able to knock the man to the ground.

            This is the detail posted with the video if the local news report from the story;
            -----------------------------------

This video has statements by a key witness "John" who saw Trayvon beating Zimmerman and who heard Zimmerman screaming "help" contrary to liberal speculation. George Zimmerman followed a suspicious individual, Trayvon Martin through a neighborhood that had suffered 11 recent break ins. Trayvon appeared to be looking around at houses in the rain casing the neighborhood. Trayvon pulled his hoodie over his face and ran after he noticed Zimmerman watching him while he was casing the neighborhood. Zimmerman drove after him, but lost sight. Zimmerman got out of his truck and looked, started walking back to his truck and Trayvon approached him. Zimmerman asked him what he was doing in that neighborhood and Trayvon began violently beating him as opposed to saying he was staying with his father which a reasonable person who hadn't been burglarizing homes might say. Trayvon was a six foot three 17 year old high school football player, contrary to the child photos the media keeps showing.

Zimmerman as a private citizen can follow suspicious people in his car and ask them questions. He was under no obligation to obey the rules of other neighborhood watch organizations.

The police operator said to Zimmerman "We don't need you to do that." when Zimmerman said he was following Trayvon. For the many liberals with a poor command of the English language, that was not an order; it was a suggestion. The police try to discourage people from taking risks that police get paid to take. That suggestion has zero legal bearing on this case.

Trayvon committed a felonious, violent assault against Zimmerman --a crime which liberals apparently don't consider a big deal. That violent attack justified Travyon being shot in self defense. Instead of asking why Zimmerman shot Trayvon, why aren't any liberals asking why Trayvon violently attacked Zimmerman? And NO being followed by a Neighborhood Watchman is not a justification for a violent assault on the Watchman even though I've seen many delusional people make comments to that effect.

Here's a more recent picture of Trayvon, you can contrast with the pictures of him when he was 12 that the liberal media is using.

If you want to help spread the truth about this and fight the liberal lies and propaganda, please post the title of this youtube in the comments section of more popular youtubes on this subject and ask people to see the only youtube with an eyewitness being interviewed.

            Youtube title is:

Trayvon Martin was punching Neighborhood Watchman when he was shot
            -----------------------------------------

          • The truth is that we dont know what was said to Martin by Zimmerman that would cause an assault. Didn't he live in that neighborhood with his parents? If he did he would have been angry being stopped by some guy and being asked questions or it is possible Zimmerman used language that was inappropriate... overall Zimmerman will not admit it if he did. Look I am sick of repeating myself. Zimmerman may have followed him, but he had no reason to get into a confrontation with Martin and then shoot and then expect to get off scot free. You don't initiate a confrontation and then when your ass is being kicked and you have the upper hand shoot and then pretend it was self defense. I am all for the truth that is why this should have been investigated at the beginning and not now that there is an outcry.

          • I only have one problem with what you're saying here, Kimmy. You repeat over and over that Zimmerman confronted Martin. Then, in this last post, you admit that we don't know what was said that would cause an assault. How about we let all the facts come out, THEN make up our minds?

          • I got no problem with that if that is what YOU want to do.

I can admit that we do not know exactly what happened after the 911 call and before the witness account I have said it already. However, we are all intelligent people and we can (like a detective) piece together events especially if we know human nature. Blame my criminal law phase, but that is how my brain works.

I think that I can safely assume that he went looking for Martin because he was told to meet the cops and he did not meet the cops. If he had gone to wait for the cops he and Martin would have not been alone before the cops came. Would you agree?

If they were alone before the cops were there, then it is safe to assume that he went looking for Martin instead of doing what the operator said which was to meet the cops. Knowing what happened before (he being a watch person and knowing of the burglaries and making a biased opinion upon Martin's intensions based on his looks and his fears of him having something in his hoodie), and knowing human nature and realizing that he went looking for him, I can safely state that Zimmerman may have not necessarily been on the best or the most serene state of mind. Right?

Since Martin ended up dead and Zimmerman was severely beaten up, I think that is safe to state that there was a confrontantion. We know that Martin saw Zimmerman watching him before (so if he saw him again following him, he may have been angry about it), and we know by the witness account that Martin was overpowering Zimmerman so we can safely assume that Zimmerman shot due to the fact that he could not get Martin off him.

The details that we really have no way of actually validating is what was the interchange between them before Zimmerman got beat up. He could have been severe or he could have been serene. I doubt that he was serene. Martin's response (to whatever Zimmerman said or did) was obviously hostile. I don't think that if Zimmerman said anything racial he would cop to it and if it was violent he won't either. Unfortunately there was no witness to the interchange before the beat down and the shot. That is the thing that I admit I do not know and we might never know as Martin is dead and Zimmerman may not admit what truly happen, he may not even be allowed to speak.

However like I said we are intelligent people and we have a lot of facts out and we can create our own conclusions. My conclusion is that Zimmerman created a confrontation and when he realized he couldn't overpower the young man, shot him. If he had gone to meet the cops, instead of following Martin, Martin would be alive, perhaps angry that the cops got in his face, but that would be another issue. My point is that it shouldn't be considered self defense when a person goes looking for a confrontation, realize they bit more that they could chew and use a fatal weapon to end the matter that they started in the first place and then claim self defense and get off scot free. That should not be.

My issue Flash with a lot of the people is that there is a believe that this is manufactured outrage and that no injustice was done here. My fear is that because of the crap being put out there by the media and idiots like Sharpton and Obama, Martin's family will not see justice or that Zimmerman will not get a fair trial.

I can make up my mind now because I am a human being, I will not be part of any jury and that is my right. Before the Casey trial was done I knew she murdered her daughter, the trial ended by letting her go, however to this day I believe that she murdered her daughter and she got scott free. Justice in my estimation was not met here on earth for that little girl. Others have made up their minds on the Martin issue that this is not a real situation either, that is their right too. We can all debate it though it is our right and that is the reason for this website isn't it? Others like you could wait it out as well that is completely valid and there is no problem with that at all.

          • "Since Martin ended up dead and Zimmerman was severely beaten up, I think that is safe to state that there was a confrontantion."

Absolutely true. What we don't know at this point, is who confronted who, and in what manner. Until there is new evidence,.............

          • "The police are not capable of actual proactive prevention in many situations." ? So?

"The majority of burglaries are not prevented by the police, rather the police react to the crime." OK?

"Usually no one gets charged and the victims lose there belongings and their sense of security in their own house."
Again... so? What does that have to do with this case?

"He continued to follow the tall hooded figure so he might be able to advise the police of a more precise location."

He lost him, the operator told him to go meet the police. The operator told him that he didnt need to be following the young man. The operator asked him if he was DOING anything, he wasn't, he wsa just walking around. Zimmerman did not caught him in any illegal act. He could have thought he was in house burglary mode, he did the right thing, he called the cops, he lost him and then he was told to go meet the cops and be of use to them. He could have given them a more detailed description or drive around to find him and identify him. If they didnt find him he could have done a sketch or else give his statement and canvass the neighborhood.

Following him around after being told or being adviced not to do so was unnecessary and not meeting the police as he was told to do was a bad move. He was too hot to find a robber hence why he called almost 50 times to the cops for the few weeks before this incident happened and nothing came out of it. Now that he had a "suspect" he was not letting this one go because "they" get away with it... (I am paraphrasiing what he said).

He wanted to be a hero and it just so happened that this man with a hero complex met an innocent boy that had no antecedents and no weapon nor any TOOLS to burglarized upon him. He made a big mistake and a life was lost. I don't see why you are so hot to defend this guy...

          • I have read elsewhere that Zimmerman has an arrest record... once for domestic violence and once for resisting arrest and assaulting an Officer.

He enrolled in Seminole State College with the goal of becoming a cop in 2009 and was working toward an associate degree. Zimmerman was dropped by the school which said it acted because of safety issues for Zimmerman and other students. (not sure when exactly he was dropped...before or after this event) In my opinion I doubt he would have passed the psychological exam to be a cop anyway.

During his 8 years of involvement in the watch program he called the cops 46 times to report "open garages" and "suspicious persons" It seems that more often than not these "suspicious persons" were black.

          • Hard to imagine the state would issue a CCL to a person with a record of assaulting an officer or domestic violence. Can you furnish citation?

          • "If Zimmerman actually had pursued with zeal and intent then of course he is in the very wrong. But that the police chose not to charge or even detain him isn’t a signal that the cops are racist, rather that indicates there was no evidence the man did anything outside the law."

I dont think here, but in another thread I have made this point many times already. He did nothing wrong in calling the cops. Once the cops came and he looked completely beaten it mades perfect sense that he was believed as a self defense thing. I have said it. It makes sense. I did not ever said that the cops were racists for believing him per se, however we can of course assume that a hooded black young man beaten up a non black and the non-black person claism self defense it is a very easy thing to believe.

All they had to do was either arrest him in order to find out what happened in more detail or investigate him if not arresting him and make sure that all the t's were crossed and the i's were dotted. They didn't. Their lack of zeal in investigating the case enraged the parents and rightly so. If I know that my son is not a violent criminal and he got shot close to my home after he was just going out to get something from the store, it makes sense for me to have his case investigated fully. The parents were asking for that and they were sidelined, they had to beg for the tapes. It wasn't until they raised hell that they got attention and things starting moving weeks and weeks after this incident happened. It may not be because they were racists, but it definetly stinks. Now that the Chief of Police has stepped down "temporarily" this is an indication that they made the wrong move and he is being thrown under the bus.

"The first witnesses, one of whom lives near enough to have a view of the scene from his second story window, give corroborating statements to the effect that the man was being pummeled about the head by the youth who had apparently been able to knock the man to the ground."

OMG I feel like a parrot... I am discussing this in another thread... I KNOW!!!!!! I have no problem with this statement. If he followed Martin and confronted him it makes sense that an immature boy who is athletic would respond negatively to Zimmerman coming at him. He was not SUPPOSED TO BE FOLLOWING HIM! Also he should have been a man and fight with his hands especially if he confronted Martin and provoked the situation. If Martin had a weapon, then Zimmerman could have been shot, at the timehe ws being beaten Zimmerman could have very easily ascertained that he was not in danger of being shot.

          • Zimmerman is a private citizen in his own neighborhood. He can do pretty much whatever he wants as long as he breaks no law. He was never ordered to stop doing the legal things he was doing, walking or driving in his own area. He has every right to ask people in his neighborhood what they're doing. These people have the right to engage him in conversation or ignore him, as they see fit. He never chased the 6'2" football player with his gun drawn and he never brandished the weapon, never threatened the young football star. Somehow the young fellow managed to knock the man down and beat him before the man pulled his weapon and fired once, putting an end to the assault he was suffering at the hands of his attacker. Until there is proof countering these witnesses statements, the media would do a service to the country by putting a stop to the portrayal of this incident in the manner they are.

          • Alien, I have thought about it because many times I have a lot to say about things (as you can well see!), but I have not figure out how to do it, discipline myself and have a schedule for it.

          • @KQ I have been thinking you could run an awesome podcast.. get large enough following, easy enough to monetize

          • Please read my response to Flash below.

In all sincerity I am getting tired of this issue. I do feel bad that Martin is dead, but right now I am thinking about how to afford gas this week. I do like to debate, but I also have real life issues to look after. Overall I hope that the martins get justice. This site is supposed to be an escape from life issues for a few moments, it is not really supposed to be a place for me to have more drama added to my life. :-/

  • My soul is just fine, thank you. I had nothing to do with a killing that happened over 1,100 miles away from me. I feel no guilt over it. I do feel sympathy for Trayvon's mother, because no parent should have to bury their child.

As someone said on another blog, when Barry engages in soul searching, he's just looking to see if he HAS a soul.

  • Why is this getting so much media coverage? Not to sound cruel or anything. Is it because it is hate crime?

    • It's getting so much media coverage because Obama is using it to distract us from what's important. The two black kids setting the white kid on fire wouldn't have fit so well into his agenda.

      • That should have also been national news the fact that it wasn't proves that the media is still heavily controlled by the liberal left.

  • He should have kept his mouth shut and stayed out of this and let law enforcement investigate. We all know that the O wants to ban gun ownership in America, so this incident fits right into his and the MSM's agenda. When you're (Obama) an arrogant, narcissistic SOB, you can't pass up any photo ops. Everything this a..hole does now on a daily basis is for a reason and suspect, IMO. Oh yeah--he doesn't like Whitey much either.

    • Martin's girlfriend said that Zimmerman used a racial slur. Unless it's on tape in the 911 call, then it's just hearsay.

    • No one's excusing Zimmerman in this post. This is about the one-sidedness of the President and others.

      • Do you hear him or the MSM get riled up when blacks kill whites? Well, on my planet that's being one-sided. Don't know about on your planet.

    • I have and it isn't clear if he did or didn't because the sound is garbled where that allegation comes in to play.

This is a tragedy where one guy, who seems to be a wannabe cop, was looking for trouble and he killed what appears to be a totally innocent individual. Still, we should not try Zimmerman in the media. If he is convicted, I do not want him to get off on an appeal or just as bad have a mistrial declared.

  • The news is nothing but propaganda at this time-If you doubt me answer why I keep seeing photos of Trayvon at age ten?

    • Yep as he was already going out of high school. To show him as a young man would belittle the story for the race baiters. Good catch.

    • OMG, I haven't really followed this story. I assumed he was ten. He was 17 when he died? Wonder if they got any recent pictures of this young man? Wonder if the press will show show pictures of the shooter at age ten?

  • With out a doubt, he is the most prejudice president we have ever had. This is the guy who is half white and half black but chose to kick his white mom and white grand parents (who raised him) to the curb to campaign on being an African American. He had the golden opportunity to pull white and black Americans together by claiming to be both. But he denied his "white" side to win the black vote. What a racist.

      • If obuma had a son, Mooshell would ensure a proper mixture of hatred, victimization and racial intolerance, thus making him 100% black.

        • I disagree with your statement because with it you are in essence calling ME a hateful, victimized, racially intolerant person and I disagree wholeheartdely with your assesment.

        • His offspring with the apparent mother of his alleged children are 50% more black than he is just using actual math, not that adjustable math employed for democrat statistics and statist disinformation. With the current flbotus as a mother/parent the influence is sure to be as you said and to the maximum degree.

  • In a rational world, it wouldn't matter but since the lefty con artists are trying to make a racial issue out of it, according to this article http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/os-trayvon-martin-shooting-zimmerman-letter-20120315,0,1716605.story
the accused killer, George Zimmerman "...is Hispanic and grew up in a multiracial family." Do Sharpton, Obama, the MSNBC clowns and the other scumbags who are trying to profit from this KNOW this? Maybe they don't care, facts get in the way of their "truth" when they're busy trying to make something else out of it. Scumbags.
