  • Common sense tells you responsible workers and providers are against reckless spending because it incurs more debt and taxes. The true deadbeats, like Kip said, are the Obama supporters of big government handouts. They sit at home living off the tax payer. However, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, during an election year, they come out of the woodwork to defend government handouts.

    The American Republic will endure until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money. We are no longer a republic but a democracy.
    A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

      • It is definitely stealing. Government is supposed to protect property not take it by force and taxation. That is theft. The government is the deadbeat here. Obama et al are arrogants bastards. We don't owe the government offerings for its "protection".
