Obama said “we would not put boots on the ground…” in his speech Saturday, but the authorization he sent to Congress for approval says:
“Authorization.- The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in connection with the use of chemical weapons or other weapons of mass destruction in the conflict in Syria…”

Obama needs to read a history book someday. He can't legitimately make that promise because once a war starts the battle plan goes to hell. This is World War I all over again. Anyone remember the Zimmerman Telegram? And no, it has nothing to do with Trayvon.

The use of chemical weapons deplorable by anyone. Assad father used them in the past, the muslim brotherhood has used them in the past. The Middle East is full of hatred for different people for no other reason than the faith that they practice. No amount of intervention is going to change that. The Iranians and Saddam Hussain have given chemical weapons to Syria. With all of the killing and constant changing of the landscape of which faction controls which area there is a very good chance the rebels used the gas in hopes of getting quagmire to actually do what he said he would do. Now they too are finding out that ol quagmire is not going to do a damn thing without first seeing what kind of damage it is going create for his reputation.
Kerry, Plugs and quagmire all bitched and moaned about W going into Iraq. The world is a much better place with out Saddam and his sons. Where W failed, he and his administration where not ready to pursue to the end all of the factions that where causing issues in Iraq. Quagmire on the other hand is only going to do just enough to create havoc and chaos (see Egypt and Libya).
As for the dim wits, they will all say quagmire is doing all he can. It is the evil republicans who are preventing him from doing all that he wants. This is pure BULL SHIT and posturing. Until the likes of Reid, Schumer, Lehay, Franken, Rockfeller and Manchin call him out. He will continue to blow like a weed in the wind, from one side to the other. What worries me is that he's moved a bunch of Marines into the eastern Mediterranean. Maybe that's "just in case" but it's an ominous development to me. Obama has a bunch of domestic issues from which he would like to distract people's attention, and he knows how well that Wag The Dog business worked for Clinton.

I see varying estimates of how many people died in these chemical weapons attacks in Syria, but even the highest estimates don't equal the number of Christians killed by Muslim Brotherhood thugs since they took power in Egypt... with our support. I don't know why people choose certain atrocities to highlight while ignoring others. Christians are being massacred by Muslims in Nigeria - a favorite tactic is to wait for the Christians to be in church then burn the church down, shooting anybody who tries to run from the building. So why don't we intervene in Nigeria? Shit like this is happening all over the world all the time. We can't stop it all because we can't afford to stop it all and we don't have enough young men to sacrifice in the job of stopping it all. But if we are going to pick and choose, I don't see why we would choose a conflict wherein both sides are our enemies.
