Obama snubs Lech Walesa. And damn near everyone and everything else. We caught a headline this morning that said, “Obama snubs Lech Walesa.” Something in the back of our heads said, “Hmmmm. That headline has a familiar ring to it”, so we Googled the phrase “Obama snubs”. Holy crap, it generated 427,000 hits. In just the first fifteen pages of results we found:

It should come as no surprise that a man who refers to himself as The One should look at others with great disdain but, Good lord, man, is there anything animate or inanimate that Barack Hussein Obama hasn’t snubbed?
427,000 is a big number. It makes it sounds like there’s a whole lotta snubbing’ goin’ on in this White House. We didn’t want to draw any unfair conclusions from that number, however, so we also Googled “Bush snubs” for comparison purposes and and that phrase generated a mere 26,800 hits.
Then we noticed that the first page of search results included references to Reggie Bush and Jeb Bush so we did a second search for “Bush snubs”, “President” and “George”. That reduced the total to just 11,100. It’s reasonable to assume, we think, that a goodly number of those hits may have referred to George H.W. Bush, but what the hell. Let’s go with 11,100.
The difference is stark. In 3.5 years, Barack Hussein Obama, the haughtiest President in history, has snubbed people, places and things 38 times as often as his predecessor did in 8 years. 38 freakin’ times more often in less than half the time.
One can only hope that on Monday, January 21, 2013 the nation’s newspapers run a headline in the same genre that reads, “Obama snubs Romney’s inauguration”.
