When he took the job, I don't think he was counting on so much resistance from Americans. He thought he could just sweep in, destroy the country, and nobody would notice. Well, he's destroyed a lot, and put us in very bad condition, but we have to rally back and toss his sorry ass out next year.
They never count on resistance. Remember, these guys are so convinced of their rightness, of their virtual sainthood, that they can not concieve of any possible opposition to their plans. Their plans are to construct utopia right here on earth. How could anyone oppose that?
When they get the opposition, the blame is always on some evil forces lurking around and putting all sorts of lies into the heads of the benighted - Rush Limbaugh, the WSJ, Fox News, etc.
When their opposition gets support (e.g., Reagan), they always write it off as people falling for slick talk and/or appeal to base instincts of the great unwashed. Reagan was "the great communicator" - he was an actor who could get people to buy into his line of crap. They could never allow themselves to even consider the possibility that the people heard what he said, understood it, and voted for it.

The voter fraud next year will be unbelievable. The Left will have to pull out all the stops trying to swing the election. I doubt Jimmy Carter will be watching to see if it's "fair" or not.
Oh, Carter will be watching. He hasn't seen any fraud in any of the banana republic elections he's overseen in the past -- and fraud was rampant in them. Personally, I think he just went to third world nations to watch their elections to get *ideas*.
