• Leno opened with three pretty good Obama scandal jokes Wednesday night. I'll paraphrase.

  1.)The National Aquarium in Washington, D.C. is closing. So if you go to Washington and want to smell something fishy, go by the White House.

  2.)It's the 40th anniversary of Watergate. Back then we had a president with an enemies list, who was spying on the press, targeting political enemies with the IRS, and involved in a cover-up. Thank God things have changed so much!

  3.) People are starting to compare President Obama to President Nixon. That's not fair to Nixon, his unemployment rate only averaged 5%.

• Well, to keep this Nixon-Obama analogy consistent, somebody needs to come up with something stupid, ok , CRIMINAL and stupid, that Biden did pre-VP, so Biden can resign this fall. That would give Barack Milhous Obama the chance to appoint someone else as VP. And from what I've seen of the Manchild-in-chief, he'd probably nominate his wife, Marie, uh, Moochelle Antoinette. Then Barry can resign the presidency in August 2014, go off to retirement with the Choom gang in Hawaii, while the only one with testicular fortitude in the Obama family begins her reign of terror from Washington!

• A lot of people don't realize this, but Valerie Jarrett is driving a lot of what's been going on. I believe both she and Holder need to go. Biden will be committed within the next couple of yrs.

• I am sick of people trying to compare to Nixon or Reagan or whatever as in well Republicans did it too. I don't care. They are not Presidents now and they paid for what they did one way or another and a strike on their legacies. Obama now is doing things that he is doing now. The past does not excuse the present. He is a terrible President and he needs to go.

  • Perhaps a more telling comparison/contrast than Obama/Nixon would be the media now (2013) versus then (1973) and as well general population now versus then with regard to the level of actual engagement with the political process and comprehension of what our leadership is doing as opposed to what they say they are doing.

    • It is true. Comparing Presidential behavior is nonsense in the end. The most important thing is what you say. How involved people are now vs then and how the press is responding to essentially similar stimuli now vs then. That is the most important thing to concentrate on.

      • I try to see these types of phenomena through the prism of addiction in that the problem of government excess is enabled by a press and populace. Addicts foster their disease in part by "recruiting" enablers and it's somewhat parallel to the government's right hand, the MSM engineering a population of enablers through propaganda and the distraction of pop culture. Of course people willingly play along which means that "We The People" can't be held entirely blameless in all this.

          If it was just Corpororations where running the show, earning their stuff instead of being aligned with the federal reserve and its printing presses, the economies of the western world would be better off.

• I don't think Obama will bre impeached, Congress will not have the courage to remove the first Black President from office. Too, there would massive unrest in the inner cities, probably riots. I suspect that Obama will serve out the next three and a half years as a lame duck. He can spend his time playing golf and vacationing.

  • Actually, rioting in the inner cities may be a good thing; it'll burn down old and unsafe project buildings, it'll force many inner city blacks to relocate into the surrounding states and countryside and depopulate the centers of unchecked and uncontrolled Democrat monopolistic hegemony, it may even encourage reinvestment in urban beautification and renewal projects, it may encourage business investment...or it might just look like Watts still does 40 years after they burned themselves to the ground. Who knows? I think all that rioting would be a good time to see just how well all of these marxist statist control measures we've stupidly enacted over the past few decades really work. Then we can decide if we want to keep them or get rid of them.

    • Oh please don't disperse them into the surrounding community. My small city did that about 15 years ago. They closed down the projects and moved the welfare cases into the community. What happened was this: ALL formerly blue-collar neighborhoods became slums, since these were the only places that would accept section 8 housing. The blue collar workers who could, sold their houses to investors, and moved to the middle class housing. The ones who could not move were stuck with these horrible, often criminal influences in their neighborhoods, sending their kids on a really bad decline.

      The middle-class people who could, promptly evacuated, moving to the very expensive neighborhoods, to get THEIR kids away from the bad element that came from the BCW's who's kids had been infected by the parasites.

      So now, instead of having a small area of parasites, we have huge neighborhoods with parasites scattered around, bringing everyone down and sucking up resources and sporting dismal schools. Plus several small areas of exclusive homes, with pristine parks, top-level schools, and so on.

      The socialist dream. Everyone lives in misery, except the top-tier. I would MUCH rather keep the problems corralled off by themselves, and let everyone else live in relative comfort. The rich will always have the best of everything - no sense even trying to change it. the only difference is that in the new system, SOCIETY pays for the top-tier (public) schools, instead of the individual rich people who send their kids to top-tier (private) schools, on their own dime.

      • I have a solution but no one will like it, especially the denizens of the ghettos and their enablers in the Commucrat Party.

        First: If you don't work, you don't eat and it doesn't matter what a doctor says you can't do. ( Of course we make certain exceptions, i.e., the permanently mentally or physically disabled and I mean persons in vegetative states and no I don't mean persons with handicaps like being wheelchair bound, over weight, blind, deaf, etc.).

        Second: No amnesty for illegals, ever! (We have plenty enough of our own criminals, we don't need to import more).

        Third: No voting for non-English speakers, non-resident aliens, welfare recipients, 18 year olds, and people who hold political and social philosophies irrevocably contrary to the central Christian theme and tenor of the US Constitution and all it's supporting documentation.

        Fourth: No public official may run for office who does not possess a certain measurable and requisite knowledge of the US Constitution, our form of government, their state government and their county and local governments; this would include any government job at any level.

        Fifth: Term limits! 12 years max. No more than three presidential terms, no more than two senatorial terms, no more than six representative terms, or any combination of the above, not to exceed 12 years; no more than the same for any level of government below the federal level, not meaning that prior lower level government experience shall automatically preclude higher level government service and not to include government bureaucracy service professionals and those in the foreign services, all politcal appointees excepted and the person who wants the job the most is the person we should consider the least. Meritocracy by fact, not by reputation only!

        Sixth: Caveats for the Fourth Estate: If it be determined that they have not adequately covered political news and have led the public astray and away from good governance and proper implementation of US Constitutional Law, their access to the government will be revoked and they will be denied first hand access to all levels of government for a period of time not to exceed six months, first offense; twelve months, second offense and permanently, third offense. At this point they can join the Enquirer.

        Seventh: Reinstate the Federal Death Penalty and place the crimes of assaultive battery and rape, child rape, treason back on the mandatory execution list and add an entire new list of penalties directed toward individuals who would claim their 1st Amendment right to Religious autonomy through acts of terror, rape, deceit, forced conversion, honor killings, the destruction of everyone else's religious and political freedoms, demands for special status and consideration because of their religious, political, social, ethnic, cultural, gender or non-christian moral views. This government has a constitutional requirement to protect the general public from the vagueries and demands of politically and socially activated minorities at varience with our Constitutional Republic.

        • You have some great ideas, some good ideas, and some that need some work.

          1) As a civilized society, we need to be sure that vulnerable people are given basic necessities. Food. Clothing. Shelter. Old people, disabled people, children.. they can't take care of themselves, so we need to take care of them, even if their parents (or children) will not or can't provide for them. The key is BASIC. Convert military barracks into housing. Provide FOOD - not money. Provide CLOTHES - not cash. Provide education, training and resources to anyone who wants it to help people get out of that environment.

          2) Agree! But relax the immigration process to make it easier for productive people to come here legally. And require them to speak English.

          3) disagree with the "Christian" theme thing. We are not the thought police. If Christianity is important to our country, it can stand on it's own.

          4) AGREE!

          5) Agree with the concept of term limits. Not sure about the specifics. BUT - cut the pensions! I'm OK with certain benefits, since the idea is that ordinary men have to give up their main jobs as a service to the country, but not the excesses we see today.

          6) I agree in principle, but there are a couple of issues: first who is in charge of deciding what is adequate? Will People magazine have to give us political news? Our forefathers left the media alone for a reason, and we don't want to get government or the judiciary involved in policing it. HOWEVER - if it could be proven that the media deliberately lied or assisted in covering things up, they should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen.

          7) I agree with capital punishment, but I think that the feds should only be involved in federal crimes. I do agree that treasonous acts and terrorism should be redefined to account for the technology of today, and that these kinds of crimes must be dealt with swiftly, harshly and publicly.

          All-in-all - you have some pretty good ideas!

        • I'm not done and my ideas aren't completely fleshed out, for example:

          Number one is meant to include able-bodied persons who make a habit of cheating the system by finding means to circumvent the requirements to receive help. First of all, the Federal government needs to completely divest itself of this whole wretched notion of welfare and release that notion back to the various states and let them deal with their 'welfare' problems as they see fit. Give these responsibilities back to the communities and local outreaches, churches and families where they belong in the first place. And yes, as a western, thus christian, civilized society, we have a responsibility to care for those who cannot care for themselves; we don't, however, have a responsibility to care for those who remain mindfully indigent and purposely slothful at the expense of the industrious. There is such a thing as the undeserving poor and we have no public responsibility to ease their lives at the expense of those who actually need and require our care. No free ride for those who could, but choose not to be productive. And when found to be cheating the system, any system, there should be stiff consequences attached. Again though, these consequences are not to be at the discretion of the Federal government, but left to the various states to resolve and not something an unhappy individual can run to the federal courts to have resolved in his, her, or its favor and then forced down the throats and up the asses of the other states and thier populations. If you don't agree with a decision-leave!

          Number two is meant to address primarily illegal behavior and not meant to stop all immigration, just that which was and is illegal from the onset, this includes the misinterpretation of and misrepresentation of the 16th Amendment. I'm really, really sorry about the emotional shrapnel resulting from the contrevention of the laws of this country in the first place.

          Number three and here you and I must disagree, but we are a Christian nation and it, like any philosphy, must be reinforced in both public and private endeavor, just as the communists are reinforcing their pernicious and evil philosophy through our arts, media, and schools. Did you think that Christianity was in the DNA or something? Why do you think this nation has so many problems? These poor behaviors don't generate themselves, they don't grow in some socio-political vacuum. These behaviors for good or for ill must be nurished and advanced. Where one recedes the other advances. Everything you believe to be good and true stems, in some way big or small, from Christianity and the ideas and philosophies fostered by and through Christianity. Everything you believe to be wrong with this country is the dirrect result of caving on christian principle for some obnoxious notion of fairness and equity for non-christian principles, notions and philosophies that do not rise to the level of Western thought but are rendered the same level of preeminence, an honor they don't deserve, not because they're not western or christian, but because they have a proven track record of being destructive and maladjusted and dangerous and in some cases...deadly.

          Number five deals primarily with professional politicians.

          Number six deals primarily with the immoral and illegal promulgation of news and how it is in fact nothing more than a convenient propaganda arm for the communist, statist left. If it actually did what is was commissioned to do I'd have no issue. There need to be consequences for flagrant misrepresentation of fact and bald faced lying and invention.

          Number seven should, as you say, deal primarily with injuries to the federal state and not be forced upon the various states. They must be allowed to mete out their own justice and one doesn't like criminal penalty laws in Kalifornia, don't commit crimes in Kalifornia. I do not believe the federal justice department has any business telling Kalifornia how to mete out justice, other than it adhere to the US Constitution while doing so.

        • It's getting late for me, so I am only going to address number 3. I absolutely agree that this nation was founded on Christianity and Judeo-Christian principles. However, I do not believe that our forefathers would be happy to exclude honest, contributing members of society from voting because they are not Christian. I am not a Christian personally, but I live by the same values as most moral, ethical people do. Jews, Buddhists and many non-religious people also live to a large degree by most those rules.

          The separation of church and state was meant for exactly this purpose. It was not meant to keep the 10 commandments out of courtrooms or Nativity scenes out of public parks - it was intended that our government not be able to mandate a religion for the country. And only allowing one religion to vote slaps that directly in the face.

          But I have faith in Christian values myself. Because those values are good rules to live by. That is why I am confident that if everything else were equal, if politics were no longer a winner-take-all game, and if people were left to their common sense, those values would prevail in a free society.

          We are where we are in society because we have allowed ourselves to be lied to. We have allowed evil people to infiltrate our schools and our government. The majority of normal, decent people were busy taking care of our own families and responsibilities, assuming that patriots were watching out for our country, as this evil slithered in to destroy what it took hundreds of years to build. I personally just hope that we caught it it time.

        • I know where you're coming from, truly I do, but we're just going to have to agree to disagree. When I talk about Christianity I mean christianity in the broader Judeo-Christian sense. No philosophies outside of Judeo-Christian thought have protected the rights of others as well as Christians have. Don't buy the bullshit! Muslims aren't going to respect, let alone protect non-muslims. This whole notion of "separation of church and state" is a farce that's been shoved down our throats and up our asses for four decades or more and does not mean at all what it has been brayed and lied to us about.

          The true sense of this supposed sacrosanct clause deals with keeping government and its intrusions out of the churches, not keeping the churches and their moralizing effect out of the public sector and the government. I can guarantee you this much, there is only good or evil and this idea of gray is the atheists way of explaining the various degrees of good in the evil or the evil in the good. When you take God and hence morality out of the equation you don't lose the grip of morality, you just lose the grip of Christian morality and what you get filling the vacuum left by the exit of one morality is filled by the infusion of another morality. Many people don't want to be constantly reminded of their morally repugnant behavior so they advance the cause of evil thinking only of what it might do to alleviate their 'guilt', but they're not thinking long term and that's kinda where we are now. If we want to return to better days in this country, we're going to have to return to first principles and some of those are Christian principles.

          If we don't express this publicly, politically...nothing is going to improve. This country is not going towards the light, no it's sinking down the sewer and it's being helped along by people who buy into this 'separation of church and state' lie being foisted on us by the progressives. The reason we should return to Judeo-Christian first principles is not to force everyone to become closet christians, but rather to save those institutions and philosophies that distinguish Western civilization from the other failing socio-political economic philosophies out there. Our country is a Judeo-Christian nation and noboby, not the MSM, schools, hollywood, or even Barak Hussein Obama can change that fact, unless we allow them. If you don't want to live in America anymore just keep buying the bullshit from the progressive left, keep believing what you read in the news papers and journals and magazines near the check out at your nearest market.

          In the mean time, I'm fighting this fight on a broader front than just the political and social and entertainment fronts. This war was never winnable by us alone...we need God's supernatural graces and help to win this war. Hell, we aren't even winning the battles all that much. It won't take Boehner long to fumble this ball and he's only a few step from our side's goal posts and nobody within 75 yards. While it may look like a win for us, he still hasn't made a move in the right direction. This moment is still very much in play any I'm just cynical enough to think he's going to f*** it all up!

        • <3 we don't disagree on any of the main philosophies. Just about the issue of who we allow to vote. As I said, I believe that if left to the will of the people, Christian values would stand on their own two feet.

          What we need to do is stop giving the squeaky wheels all the grease. A handful of shrieking atheists or muslims manage to override the values, wants and desires of the millions of mainstream people who disagree.

          Those who CAN be productive in some way, but choose not to, can die in the street for all I care. That would create jobs for people picking up the bodies. Of course, there probably won't be that many. I assume most lazy bastards would wash my windows for food if that was the only way they could get some.
