Michael Moore just said Eastwood talking to an empty chair was "creepy." Wow. You just cannot make this stuff up.
The left is ridiculing his speech (also Roger Ebert) so it had to have hit home. And if I'm not mistaken, Michael Moore did a documentary movie "Roger and Me" where he interviewed an empty chair because the CEO wouldn't talk to him (GM?). And I think Ebert and the left LOVED that one.

I love Clint Eastwood and have a lot of respect for him. But his complaints about President Obama are imaginary, just like his imaginary Obama. The truth is Romney's tax policies would be devestating to our economy, unemployment would go up - right along with our deficit. The ONLY ones that would benefit are the super wealthy. The rest of us would pay for their golden egg. There is nothing wrong with asking for a balanced approach. Cut back on spending, cut back on social programs, cut back on our bloated military budget, and return tax rates to the level they were under President Clinton. Instead, Republicans want to give more tax breaks to the "job creators" and cut everything else. Obama's plan (if Republicans don't block it) is a more balanced approach that would solve the deficit problem within a decade according the the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office. According the the CBO, Romney's tax plan or Ryan's would ADD 10 trillion to the deficit. Romney uses VOO-DOO economics when he says the economy will grow enough to make up for the trillions in less revenue. I think there is room for compromise if both parties would stop their political posturing and compromise. Give manufacturing, businesses, and corporations a super low tax rate - but only if they keep jobs here. Let the Bush tax cuts expire on individual wealth over $250,000.00, at least until our deficit is under control and our economy has recovered, and continue to invest in education, energy, and technology to stay competitive globally.
My favorite words from Eastwood's speech were:"Politicians are employees of ours". Obama, with all his czars and executive orders, is in the tradition of politicians who like to lord it over their subjects and dictate.

Agreed, but Obama has shown no interest in compromise. He wasn't interested in Republican ideas on health care and doesn't meet with Republicans very often. Fearing for his re-election, he now says he'll work with Republicans in a second term. If he didn't do it in a first term, why would he do it in a second?
Well of course he will work with the Reps now!
If he gets reelected, he will be a lame duck President, and we all know how much they are willing to compromise when they don't have to worry about getting reelected, and the VP has no chance of getting the nomination.

The fact that you can call for a "balanced approach" while at the same time lauding Obama's so-called plan is nothing short of astounding. I liked the end where he asked the crowd to "make his day". I have no doubt he was refering to the fact that the Obummer has to go.
That was a great Eastwood line for sure. RNC needs to develop that line into a National Campaign Ad - Joe Biden, Poster Child for n0bama 2012.
