• Oh, well. Ultimately, this world just ain't my home. Zuckerberg, et al, can have all my stuff once I'm done with it and gone... thanks to the resurrection.

• Cesar Chavez is almost single-handedly responsible for the ongoing problem with illegal immigrants and the poverty of migrant workers.

  Ever wonder why a big harvester machine can roll through an Iowa cornfield, suck up cornstalks from the front end and spit out Green Giant Frozen Niblets from the back end, but lettuce still has to be picked by hand?

  Back in the 60s, after Chavez had organized his peons, he went around to all the big heavy equipment companies like IH and John Deere, and told them that if one of their designers even started thinking about a machine that would do the work his nickel-a-day people did, they would have a strike on them that would end them.

  All the BS about how some stuff is just too delicate to be picked by a machine is just that, BS.

  • Well I live near vineyards, lots of them, the machines do a great job and do minor damage to some of the branches of the grapevine, but overall they work faster, don't require roadside portapotties, or a taco truck to follow them around. Most of the smart vineyard owners use them.

    There some farm journal I was looking at a couple months back (At the tire shop) and there is some kind of machine either being developed or being tested to harvest lettuce. Part of the article was missing cause there was an advertisement on the backside.

    For a fact I can tell you that farm labor jobs are getting fewer and farther between. Machines are doing a lot of the harvesting, In Stockton Migrant unemployment is what drives the high unemployment numbers in San Joaquin County. About 22 percent if you take the illegals into account.

    • They have a machine that picks grapes? How the hell does that work?

• This is why I use Startpage as a search engine. I refuse to use anything google, I wouldn't even wipe my ass with google toilet paper, let alone use any of their software.

  • Okay, that's just Google once removed, right? I like it because so far as I can see, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and the others don't have the advanced search option. Startpage does.

• I don't know a ton about Chavez, but I say beware of liberal politicians and groups who portray figures from the past as more liberal than they were. Chavez was a father of eight and prayed the Rosary and was a fairly conservative Catholic. I think he would be disgusted with the moral agenda of President Obama. He was pro-union, but unions back in the day backed political candidates who were much more conservative than today. Don't forget that Chavez actually reported to the authorities, illegal immigrants who were used as strikebreakers. He did not want union workers fighting for better contracts to be undercut by undocumented workers.

  • You are right. Liberals do appropriate whomever they want after death, and they also whitewash the truth to make the person seem heroic. Malcolm X is a great example. A murderous, evil criminal, who somehow became a liberal hero, and who's story conveniently included that Daddy was killed by the KKK and an uncle was lynched. No proof needed - but it adds "authenticity" to his persona. Modern libs conveniently forget that he advocated separatism instead of integration, and was a hard-core racist.

    I don't know as much about Chavez. I know when I was a teenager I thought he was a good man, trying to see that vulnerable people were not taken advantage of. But I was a teenager, and I also (no lie) helped serve a few meals for the Rainbow Coalition.

He was well on his way to nationalizing Venezuela's private business sector, cheated in every election, arrested political opponents and critics, and had absconded with approximately $2 billion dollars of his country's money while giving speeches about how he cared so much for the poor. Tell you what, before you try to whitewash this dictator-thug, find a nearby bar that caters to Venezuelan expats - they're all over the world now - and ask the people who know best what they think of Chavez.

    • JP, when I looked at the picture, I thought for several minutes: That doesn't look like Hugo Chavez. Why are they making him look so young? Are the Socialists giving him a younger, thinner appearance? And then I finally realized it was Cesar, not Hugo.

        • Haha I was wondering about that. I knew the dude as an activist for lettuce and grape pickers - but whatever. Mandela was supposedly a humanitarian, but in fact he was a filthy killer. Nothing surprises me.

  • Bing is owned by microsoft - so it's support one politically correct libtard organization or another. Try duckduckgo.com. They are fast, small and have way fewer ads. I don't know their politics, and that's just fine with me. They can believe in unicorns or witches for all I care, so long as they don't insist on ramming it down our throats.

• My Google search of Cesar Chavez toilet paper has turned up nothing . I suspect Corporate Stupidity , or CD ( Crowley disorder ) , as the root problem .
  On a lesser note , its amazing how evil people love and adore other evil people . Just like how they ignored all that Mandela did on the way to the top . Or Bill Ayers , or Stalin , etc , etc , etc ..

  Even a child is know by what they do , whether they are good or evil .

At the least those evil heathens could put eggs baskets and bunnies and ignore the religious significance, but to "honor" a socialist labor activist?   • Funny they honor a socialist when the owners are billionaires and their employees are beyond well-compensated. Well, perhaps Eric Schmidt (worth $7.5 billion) will get hit on the head by a head of lettuce flung by God as a thank you.
