OPTIMISM OVER US ECONOMY SHORES UP MARKETS

Optimism over the US economy shores up markets: Optimism doesn’t shore up markets any more than a new coat of paint shores up a staircase constructed of rotting wood. At best it encourages more traffic in the wrong direction up until the very moment that everything comes crashing down.

  • I could not believe it when I read that the home builders association is "optimistic". This must either be home and bluster trying to persuade people things will get better, or a payoff from the regime.

When the stock market bubble bursts, as it surely will when the fed puts the printing presses away, it's going to hurt.

The natural rhythm of recessions, before creation of the Fed was every 2 or 3 years, since the Fed that period has been artificially lengthened to 7 or so.

Either way, we're due. And the Fed has nothing left it can do to forestall (which usually lengthens) the one coming.

So, pour another drink and remember today. . . because these could, in fact, be the good old days before long.

  • Straw optimism perhaps? I do oh so love how financial tabloid novelists are somehow able to attribute the causes for specific market moves yet express surprise and shock when it tanks.

The only optimism to be had in this economy is that the impending Obamacare provoked collapse will wake people up.

    • "the impending Obamacare provoked collapse will wake people up."

i will only believe that when i see it. because:
      a kenyan was illegally elected
      incredible amounts of voter fraud
doj and justices giving the kenyan a pass on the fake birth certificate,
damn near everything else he's done since becoming the squatter in chief.
the 2nd "election" of the kenyan.
his ongoing hate of my sibs in arms.
not to mention his bowing and scraping to foreigners.

  • "growing optimism over the U.S. economy" wonder which international bankers sat down over lobster and wine to decide how to word smith this pack of lies?
Poppajoe49 has it dead on, but forgot (or was too depressed to mention) that the government is growing, more cottage industries, more social services, more interpreters for the billions spend on illegals, foreign aid in the billions to those who hate us and have vowed to destroy us (don't worry enemies of the world emperor barry is doing a great job of destroying America) all paid for by the few who continue to work.

    • Actually, I didn't want to induce a headache in myself this early in the morning, so I ignored those maddening items.

  • What is there to be optimistic about?
The only industries that are doing really well are:
The paper and ink compnies that supply the federal reserve with the materials to print more funny money.
The tourisim industry in Hawaii, when King Barky and the Moose need to relax.
Golf related businesses, when King Barky is "working".
    Whoever supplies AF-1 with fuel.
Burger, fry, and shake outlets in DC.
