We wish to extend our most sincere apologies to Ed Schultz

We apologize for all the times we’ve made fun of Ed Schultz. After hearing this tape, we now realize that he’s mentally ill. Sick. Nuttier than the proverbial fruitcake. Completely unable to control the violent bile that he spews. And it’s been unkind of us to make fun of him.

The Radio Equalizer has his latest bizarre rant:

Schultz: And you have no idea, in my bones, in my very soul! In my heart! I want to kick Fox’s ass! I want to drive them into the ground! I want to spike the ball! I want to kick ‘em in the teeth on the way back to the huddle! And then I want to turn around and lift my leg on ‘em! Because that’s all they’re worth! They lie. They cheat. They steal.

Putting Schultz on the air is similar to the way they put the insane on public display in Victorian England. Except that MSNBC’s audience is so small that it really isn’t all that public.

  • Not following football, I never knew that's where Special Ed came from. Stands to reason. When did he play? Back when they had those leather helmets that didn't protect anything? You see, I have this theory...

    • He played college football at Moorhead State University in Minnesota, & was an All American at QB, leading the NAIA (Division 2-small college football)in passing in 1977. He had tryouts with the NY Jets & Oakland Raiders before signing with the Winnipeg BlueBombers of the CFL. He left after half a season, 1 reason I heard was he had trouble throwing the bigger football used in Canada. He then went into the broadcast booth, doing North Dakota State Bisons football. He then went from the booth to doing political talk radio, & he started out as a conservative. He then went liberal.

        • They are starting to study the effects of being whacked in the head now. Football & hockey are taking it much more seriously. You are seeing the study of the brains of former players, the latest was NHL enforcer Derek Boogaard, who just passed away a week & a half ago. He missed most of this season with a concussion. I remember back in the day, a guy got his bell rung, & came back later. Today, you see a battery of nerologists checking out a player after a headshot, & any number of tests after the fact. It is being taken more seriously now then it used to be, & at at all levels. That, is a good thing.

  • So.... he is a dog with rabies?

How exactly does Fox cheat and steal (I get when he says lying) but cheating and stealing?! Weird.

Uhm... he is envious perhaps, but his envy has taken him to a very sad place.

I bet you anything he would LOVE to work at Fox.

    • In a few years, he will be lucky to be working in the media at all. Ed is fool & a clown, he should be treated as such.

  • Schultz must be put away as soon as possible.SCHULTZ IS MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED.All things he says about Fox is what Schultz does.SCHULTZ IS A TWO-FACED LIAR.

  • This idiot is in meltdown. Soon, there will be nothing but a puddle of piss where the narcissistic shultz once stood.

  • What I like to do is lock Ed Shultz and Chris Matthews in a room together with one of those Obongo blow up dolls and watch them tear each other apart over who gets "first dibs".

  • danybhoy, I could give a shit how good that dumb ass was at football, I don't like football, I'm a motorsport fan, and I think one reason I don't like football is that most fans are like him, big, fat, stupid and real loud. And don't give me football fans are real men crap, 50% of the big fat sreaming idiots watching football at the bar I go to are women.

      • Too scary for em. All the fast cars and good lookin women and real men that would stomp them into the ground if they said anything stupid.

    • John, I just brought facts to the table. I can't stand Ed, but he was a decent college QB. Because that might help some understand why he used so much football verbage. No need to be angry over a non-opinion.

I don't mind motorsports, I'm an F1 fan. Yeah, I know, I'm in the minority on that one. Another subpar season for Ferrari, makes it hard to be too excited so far.

      • Didn't mean to sound mad at you but I get very irritated during football season going to my favorite watering hole when it's filled with ed lookalikes with red faces screaming at the top of thier lungs after every stupid play.

        • No problem, I just do most of my bitching about the game at home in front of 1 of 2 Samsung flatpanel TVs. I have toned it down, but used to be 1 of the idiots you don't like hearing at the bar. I will cop to that.

          • Formula One all the way. And if this guy Ed says he wants to kick Fox's ass, I say go for it, big guy. We'll be watching Fox to see how well you do.

          • I work with a F1 freak. He says he can't watch NASCAR because of all the suspense:

"What's it gonna be? Left turn."
"What's it gonna be? Left turn."
"What's it gonna be? Left turn."
"What's it gonna be? Left turn."

  • This is hilarious! He talks about how close their ratings are to Fox (NOT!), and then he goes on to crow about beating CNN in one age group demo for a one month period. This guy is a hoot! Perhaps he should consider a career change to "comedian".

Oh and he wants to kick Fox's ass? He would literally kiss Murdoch's ass, change BACK to conservative, and fly over there in a New York minute if Fox were to ever offer him a contract to broadcast over there. Sadly for him, I don't see that happening.

    • Al Davis still thinks it's 1995 & that he still matters. The man is a true legend, but his time has come & gone. The sooner he hires someone to the job of running the Raiders & allows them to do it, the better. He is just in the way at this point.
