Uh Poppa, I'm not sure that is frm the Bible. But it does apply. In the Bible, those who were better off helped those who weren't like widows and children. But the Apostle Paul pointed out that even as as a missionary, he paid his way in his trade of tenetmaking, and that he never expected anyone to be responsible for his care as long as he could work. Silas cared for hme while he was blind, but he never again relied on the people to care for him.
And what about widows and children? Should the government let them rot? The disabled, too?

Conservatives are not anti charity. Conservatives donate more in money, goods and services than anyone on the left. We will care for those who are ill, or injured, or mentally deficient, who cannot care for themselves. I do love my internet, but I don't struggle under the misapprehension that it is somehow a "right" or that The Government owes me broadband -- or that anyone else in the world has an obligation to help me pay for it, except maybe my wife and kids who share it with me.
I'm open-minded though, and if some fathead wants to try convincing me that he should be allowed to split the Comcast bill with me, I'll gladly hear him out.
