  • Somewhere there is an insurance company who's not too pleased with this guy.

  • I wonder if that's the guy who keeps replying to my posts (elsewhere) that HE IS MAKING $250K IN HIS SPARE TIME FROM HOME! JUST BOUGHT NEW F1 MACLAREN WORKING 20 HRS A WEEK!!!! NO JOKE!!!

  • It didn't take long for this clown to solve his mid-life crisis problem, about 10 minutes! I have been building hotrods and dune buggies for years and you don't fool with these kind of cars. You have to ease into them, learn slowly what they will do and most importantly, remember where the brake pedal is.

  • A couple of you know who my employer is, and I can tell you some customers can really drive, but the guy who buys the really expensive sports car that is not specifically a track car often gets into trouble. As Clint says, " a man needs to know his limitations."

  • Before allowing someone to buy one of these, they should be required to take a high speed driving course, and show their skill with the car they are buying, on a race track. THEN, they may be allowed to leave the dealership with it.
Are we taking any bets that this guy is a Liberal?

  • This happens a lot. Men (usually) wanting to legally be race car drivers without the training nor the discipline with a lot of money buy these and wreck it soon after and/or multiple times. Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) did the same thing and I believe twice and he realized he couldn't handle it and sold it but like boatloads of money not sure which car it was at the moment. This is childish, but whatever it is their money.

    • Ironically, for the cost of this car, you could buy two new corvettes, install all the racing safety equipment in one and keep the other for the street, hire a mechanic, boost the HP to insane levels, 100 sets of racing tires etc etc etc and go real racing every weekend for a couple of years. OTOH, these cars are indispensable if you're looking to impress the dollies with either your alphatude or ineptitude.

      • For the money you are talking about I could buy a new F-250, spend a little remodeling the inside of my home, then waste the rest on fishing and beer. Since I already have everything I need that is a lot of fishing and beer!

        • Yeah KQ, dollies. I have seen a lot of guys do this when they hit 40, it's called their mid-life crisis. They are usually divorced after many years of marriage and think they have to do something to impress the girls again. I have seen guys buy a bunch of gold shit to hang around their neck and dress like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Then they buy a sports car like a 'Vette, Camaro or a car like the one in the story, thinking it will make them a viril young man again. I'm glad I didn't have a problem like that, by the time I was 40 I had learned to not care what others thought of me, even the dollies.

          • If a man around my age called me a dollie or doll or something like that, I would shiver in disgust and walk away. It is however funny when I hear elder gentlemen make comments like that is like from another time. That is why I guess it is called the generation gap.

I do agree that many men (and I suppose some women) need to calm down with the feeling of irrelevancy that comes with aging. There is so much that elder individuals can do to remain relevant and productive than be absurd and childish in their pursuits. With that said a lot of people wouldn't have jobs and wouldn't have a reason to make machines that are works of art like these types of cars. So there are industries that need aging idiots with absurd and childish pursuits of relevancy.

          • Never called a woman "dollie" in my life. I was raised to respect women and talk to them with respect.

          • A very smart young lady bartender that I used to work with, had a saying for when someone called her "Doll".

She said, "I'm not a doll, a doll is an empty headed plaything."

          • EXACTLY.

Any man under the age of 65 should know that. I have no patience with any man under the age of 65 that would even think that is appropriate.

  • I've done that... with $70 RC airplanes. I can't imagine with that expensive of a vehicle and to be inside it.

When the send it back, they should reduce the horsepower by half and when the guy complains, tell him and then bump it up.

If I had that kind of cash, I'd be out racing all the time.

      • A friend of mine (who used to race) went to a Ferrari Club thing a Laguna Seca awhile back. He said some of them are afraid to drive the damn things going around the track at like 40 MPH.

I ran into one of them out in the boonies North of Livermore one Saturday afternoon. Some old fart from Blackhawk going about 35. I finally passed him up in my Land Rover that was jacked up for off-roading.

I used to see him in downtown Danville. He'd parallel park it on the main street then stand there and watch it in case someone scratched it.
