    • Right. Terror is a tactic. Calling this war a war on terror would be like referring to WWII as the War On Kamikaze in the Pacific or War On Blitzkreig in Europe. We can't win any conflict so long as we are too afraid to state who our enemy is.

  • This nation was founded on Judo/Christian laws and therefore those who came here from muslim countries know or knew this. If they wish to have Sharia law, then pack up their non-bathing wife beating asses and return to where they can live under it.

    Look at England, they let Sharia law gain a foot hold and now British laws are being ignored while Sharia is being enforced. In many portions of London and the suburbs the bobbies cant not enter without being harassed by the "citizens".

    As long as I can draw a breath and speak, not here, not on my watch. This is the USA. You came here not the other way around. Love it, or leave it.

      • The true intentions and motives of Islam are completely understandable to anyone who reads the Bible and UNDERSTANDS it. Thankfully you don't even need to be a Jew nor a Christian to get it. Islam was created because there had to be an antagonizing force in the world. A lot of people dont want to believe me, but this religion is not meant for peace. It is meant for control and subjugation of the human race and there is an evil agent that wants it so. Without understanding of evil it is difficult for someone to understand.

          • Islam was meant for that. From the very beginning it was meant to be in complete contrast and antagonistic against Judaism and Christianity. Even though many Jews refuse to see Christ as Messiah, we are able to co-exist (truly) rather well if we both put our minds to it. We do worship in the end the same G-d. Muslims may say that they worship the same G-d, but ask any Muslims about their religious practices and tell them that they are the same or equitable as/to Jews, they will say "NO, no, no... Not the same". Try it. They always want to be different and not truly co-exist with both Christians and Jews. They leave their rat ass countries come to another country and demand that everyone else lives as they do. Those who decide to moderate their lifestyles are not respected by those who want to live the way they lived in their muslimland. Muslims hate one another if they come from different countries. Jews don't do that and Christians don't do that. Ask an Algerian how he or she feels about Egyptians. Heck ask them Algerians and Egyptians (or even others in Middle East) how they feel about BLACK/AFRICAN Muslims below the Sahara. There is no true brotherhood. They turn on each other at the drop of a hat. Sunni and Shia there are issues there. I don't have a problem with Presbyterians, nor Lutherans nor Catholics. I don't bomb them or kill them. Muslims are the number one killers of other Muslims. You don't see that among Jews and Christians. Christians/Jews being number one killers of Christians/Jews. No New Testament text asks Christians to murder non-Christians or even Christians who don't act Christian like. Trust me... Islam was created to be antagonistic. There are many who don't WANT to be antagonistic and that is good for them, but they cannot live in Muslimlands and freely say so without fear can they?

    • Precisely! Let's not dance around this thing. And please, with all due respect, can we not deflect this to a long discussion about gender orientation? It's about Islam, especially the radical sects, who are out to destroy western culture, especially Christianity. This evil is coming out of the cracks and crevices everywhere. Europe shut it's eyes to it and they are being overcome. There are already Islamic strongholds in America - Dearbornistan, Detroitistan, being two of the more obvious. This post is about the insidious way that sharia law is creeping into our culture. This LJ group is doing it through the weak-ass courts who are looking everywhere for any opportunity to be more diverse in their opinions and decisions. They are throwing our National Sovereignty to the dogs... the Islamic dogs!

      • But evenwith clear statementsuch as this one, people are still trying to tell us that they aren't trying to convert the US to Islam. While I appreciate that there are American Muslims who don't seem to follow all the rues and regs of Islam (just like some Christians don'tfollow all the teachings in the New Testament, and many jews are jewish by birth but don't take part in any of the religious practices. But there IS a segment that wants a global caliphate. And they can and do use our system of government against us. There are increasing numbers of Muslims in America. They can vote. And eventually they will make people lackadaisacal about voting, etc, then they will vote sharia law into place and we will all be pure out of luck. Just saying.

        • It is difficult perhaps to follow the teachings of Christ and His apostles, but Christians would be better off if they did. A Christian though is a Christian due to their belief in Christ and acceptance of His sacrifice for our sins. A Christian is not a Christian because they follow dogma or they follow rules and regulations to a T. Even Paul himself spoke to this issue. No where in the NT does God/Jesus demand what the Islamic god demands of its people. Christians are actually asked to be the exact opposite of fundamental Muslims. Jews who don't practice Judaism are not compelled to murder and become terrorists.

          Moderate Muslims are essentially trying to reform their religion by not following the fundamental basics that have to do about jihad and conquering people through force and violence if necessary. Many people can say that they are not real Muslims because they are trying to join the contemporary world and leaving the Middle Ages behind. Anyone can be a Christian in any culture and time frame and one can say that a non religious Jew can obviously belong in any culture and time frame... a fundamental Muslim cannot. They would view the so called moderate Muslims as not real Muslims and as trying to dilute or disintegrate the religion. That is a big problem. Fundamental Muslims have their texts to back up killing those who do not submit. There is no such mandate to Christians and to Jews. A jew can live outside of his religion peacefully and without fear of being killed by another Jew nor a Christian. A person can choose to not be a Christian and no one will come after him or her. A person that decides not to be a Muslim anymore will be in danger the moment he or she lets anyone know of that and even in this country which is insane.

          The amount of people that are being hurt or even dying in sharia conclaves in this country is being kept under wraps by the media but it is increasing. Islam is unique and solitary and it is not equitable nor comparable to Christians nor Jews.

          Once we loose our freedoms to sharia we will have to essentially have to fight every single day to not be overtaken and that will mean civil war.

  • I know, I make no secret of my orientation here sometimes and it's not because I want to make anyone uncomfortable or to force it on anyone, but to let you guys know, there are those of us out there who don't want to upend societal norms or tradition. I love traditional marriage. I support it 100%. If not for it, I wouldn't be here, neither would my brother or sister or my partner and his sister. We all love traditional marriage (some of us so much we do it 2 or 3 times). I just want what my sister gets to have. I'm a good person. My partner is a good person (seroiusly, you'd love us). We don't want to force churches who don't believe we're doing the right thing, but we'd like churches who think we're actually equal under the eyes of God to be able to be able to join us in matrimony. (If you think the sex part is icky, trust me, after 8 years, it happens as little for us too). I just want to have what the rest of you have. We're good citizens,employees, sons, and neighbors. I saw a link about a lesbian who wantedto destroy the sanctity of marriage. Trust me, I was just as applaled as the rest of you. That was just just one stupid asshole, who does't represent the silent majority. Just as most Christians don't want to be defined by Westboro, we don't want to be defined by that idiot. I know some of you are already on my side, some of you.(the one's I'm appealing to) are on thefence and some who hate me for what I am that nothing will change your mind. Just know most of us are not what you see on TV. We don't all go prancing around in glittery Gstrings and want to be in your face. Most of us just want to be your equals, your neighbors and your friends. We just want what you take for granted. Seriously, is that really going to bring down society as we know it?

Not sure why this is happening on this thread. You gay... be gay. No one should/can stop you. I always say that only G-d could stop me from being gay if I were gay and only G-d. Nobody would stop me from being gay and I wouldn't be ashamed because that is how I am and that is who I be. I do me and I say that people should do them without me being all up in their private lives and without them being all up in my private life. That is YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS and it should remain so... However now that you have included me in your personal business (which is fine that is your right to let people know your personal business), I have a few questions because I am curious.

      You do not want to upend societal norms or traditions, but you would like churches to join you in matrimony? You can see that seems contradictory. Can you explain?

      Why do you want Churches to do that? Why do you assume that people in Churches don't see you as equal under G-d? You don't think that people can have that belief while at the very exact time also belief that marriage should be within a man and a woman?

      Another question what exactly do "we" have that you don't have? :-/ For the sounds of it you have more than I do. What I got that you don't have? What is missing in your life so bad that marriage will somehow give you?

      What are we taking for granted? Are you saying to me that you are not equal? What EXACTLY is making you not equal? That is confusing to me. What are you lacking?

      These are real questions. I am not being mean or anything. I have NO PROBLEMS with you whatsoever. You are a fantastic person because you are. You fine.

      There are no issues with you from me and many others here. There are ignorant and intolerant people in all walks of life. You are an adult and you are making adult decisions for you.

      2. I never felt you were trying to force your ideals and lifestyle on me.
      3. Compared to the gay friends I have, you are the only conservative, and only one couple of the group is flamboyant, but then, they do live in California.
      4. I never thought you were trying to force churches to accept you as a gay man.

      All that said, if you hadn't told us you were gay, we would not have known. Truthfully, we react more to a person's politics than anything else here. What you do in the privacy of your bedroom is of no concern to us, unless it involved children, then it would be a problem.

    • FWIW, in no way do I consider you or anyone else less than equal. I don't believe in special rights (especially the kind of rights bestowed by government) for anyone either. What I do believe in is equal rights for everyone. Marriage isn't a right but that doesn't mean that our tax code and other obstacles that "unmarried" couples face should not or could not be changed to accommodate the agreement to merge property and commit to one household by gays and lesbians (civil union). If a particular church chooses to recognize and marry same-sex couples, then great it should. What should not happen is the federal government forcing a church to recognize and perform same-sex marriages. Marriage is not mentioned in the Constitution; therefore, the 14th Amendment does not apply contrary to what some argue. In the end it should be a local issue.

      Finally, Mark Steyn recently wrote a piece about this topic. His contention was that gay marriage in Canada is legal but only a tiny percentage of marriages performed there are same-sex. However, the PC/gay "rights" laws now on the Canadian law books have elevated gays to a super protected class status that a Muslim could only dream of. That isn't right either and I wonder if that isn't the agenda for some on the left here.

        You a human being you are the same as another human being. Nobody should be a separate class of people with special rights. Human beings in all countries should have NEVER allowed Government to regulate marriage. Marriage should have been left in the hands of society/religion. If there is any abuse or actual infringement of a right then government can settle a dispute case by case. Marriage IS NOT a Right. It is not a civil right.

        People who want to join their lives together should not have to ask the government for permission to do so. We have all the documentation in place to unite our lives with another person (regardless of orientation) and to make sure that inheritance is in place. Government should not be robbing us with taxes that is disgusting and gays and everyone should be fighting AGAINST THAT instead of asking the government for special rights. The moment we have a truly just and fair tax system a lot of these issues of gay marriage will be resolved and there will be no need for it OR the government wont be involved and it can be and remain a PRIVATE contract within a pair as it should be.

        Churches shouldn't have to go against their fundamental beliefs to accomodate this. An individual church can do whatever they like, but other churches don't have to recognize it.

        In Canada people go into Churches in order to spy on the priest or pastor. If he or she mentions that the Bible does not condone homosexuality the government can put that pastor or priest in prison. That is what the left wants to happen here and they are using gays just like they use Black people to make it happen.

        • One of my church friens is an Anglican Priest. She is too. When they married in Canada, she was not ALLOWED to change her surname to his. While it works well for them as priests (no one gets confused on who is who) it kind of leaves her out of the family, since the children used the father's surname. Its like the mother is an afterthought. How can that be liberating? Geoff, I was raised in a very conservative church, and I admit that I struggle with your choice. I seem to be a "gay magnet" in that everywhere I go, if there is a gay man, he will be telling me his life story by the end of the first week with him! And I do have good friends that are gay. I have a 26 year old son who is not married, and is frequently mistaken for gay (he wears he isn't) and I have told him it is ok uf he is, since he is stillmy son. I see gay couples who absolutely love eachother, and IO feel God can't be against love. Its a conundru, but know there are many of us out here trying to reconcile how we fell about your choice.           • I don't know who gave him a TD overall for what I gather he has a monogamous relationship and he is trying to live a good life and that is great. I still don't know what caused the post and as far as I can tell, he has his life together so it seems to me that he got a leg up on a lot of people. So I hope that he can continue to do the best that he can and as I stated as a human being he is the same as everyone else.

            I always say that a heterosexual male or female that marries and divorces many times and many times due to infidelity on their parts and/or live a very sexual active lifestyle with different people and break a lot of people's spirits and hearts; are not in the same league as a gay pair that live a faithful and monogamous lifestyle for decades. I know how G-d feels about wanton sexuality (heterosexual and homosexual) and I know how he feels about conservative and appropriate sexuality. I don't know how G-d will handle that particular situation where gays live a conservative lifestyle where they engage in a monogamous lifestyle, but I am thinking that He perhaps may favor a faithful and monogamous relationship gay person, over a sexually crazy heterosexual freak. That is what I think and feel. I don't know.

            All I know is that I do me and people need to do them. NO one needs to ask me nor the government for permission on how to live their lives as long as they are not infringing on the rights of others. If they feel like asking G-d then do. G-d will say and do what He wants. It will be up to the individual person to obey or not to obey. If people don't want to ask G-d then don't that is yet another valid choice that humans have.
