I'd also like to point out that using the KKK in any form of communication is never "light and humorous", and a superintendent that wants to let *that* one drop without calling her on it is in on the prejudice.
Trying to get my BP down, my daughters are grown (tho 1 gets it in post HS) and not even my state, but that whole response really urinates me off. Have a few more observations, but will quit now.

Have you noticed how conservatives/republicans just got lumped into the 'diverse beliefs' category, like something you'd read about in a National Geographic, or a bug you'd see under a microscope? Methinks there was no "teachable" in the teachable moment.
I also take issue with people in the education hack ^H^H erm, "industry" talking about "teachable moments". Isn't their entire career predicated around lifelong earning ^H^H*learning*, so every moment is a "teachable moment"?

All courtesy of tenure, unions and the lack of testing for teachers. This occupant of the class room should be instructed that they (teacher) will be giving a speech to the entire school. The subject matter will be. "Intolerant leftist and why they should be more tolerant" then the "teacher" will read from an apology that has been prepared by said " teacher" and approved by the school administrators to all of the school.
That geometry teacher needs First Amendment sensitivity training. He/she also needs to be fired for humiliating and threatening a student who dared to express an opinion out of step with a "Democratic school".
This is a good example of our public schools' idea of "diversity"--- children of all races, creeds and colors coming together to have the same ideas, the same opinions and support the same politics.
Not usually the "don't hesitate, litigate" type myself; However it sounds like a civil suite against this alleged teacher for attempting to violate the students 1st amendment rights might be in order.
Not sure if the union would pick up the tab on a civil suite, and hitting the teacher in the wallet might get the point across.

As an Objectivist and Right Libertarian I agree with 90% of what Paul espouses, but it's the 10% nutball and his unyielding, forever-the-victim supporters that turn me away from you and your comments.

Listen up. Lots of good people like lots of what Paul stands for, but we have seen what can happen when third-party candidates ruin the outcome of an election. This is no time to risk ruining another election. If you and your friends want to give 0bama another four years, boycott the election.

When Ron Paul is good, he's great. Like on financial policy. But when he's off, he's way off. Like with Iran.
Now same goes for his backers. He has the support of people who want to audit The Fed & get them under control. That's good. He also has folks who support him who were part of OWS, not so good. He also has a faction who thinks 9/11 was an inside job(BTW, that's what I was trying to get out of that asshat crowley), & it hurts Ron Paul in terms of national office.
I think of him like Thomas Paine, actually. A wild-eyed revolutionary, some of the crazy is crazy brilliant, and some of it is just plain man-bites-dog crazy. In the end, he was more of a liability than an asset. Both of 'em got people thinking, though, and for that, they both deserve the hero treatment.
