  • This needs to find its way into a Romney add then another one where all of the off shore oil rigs use to be and where they are now. (Brazil) and used by a Soros company.

  • Y, it's true politicians don't CONTROL gas prices, but they do influence them. And while Bush was president in 2008 when prices spiked, remember who controlled congress at that time - Democrats. And I remember distinctly hearing Democrats like Botox Pelosi saying "drilling won't lower prices for 10 years" and such - the reality is, prices are set by the futures and spot markets and even the rumor of more supply, for example, a release from the SPR or a bill to open the some area to drilling, will send the price flying downward. Let the next president say "Hey, let's build that XL pipeline thing!" and see what happens to prices. And let's not forget what one Democrat congressclown said (off the record) when asked what the Democrats energy plan was: "Conservation and wait for the wind." We've had conservation, we got the stupid wind and solar and prices are STILL high. So much for their plan.

    • I love that line "drilling won’t lower prices for 10 years.” My response is 'why not set ourselves up for success in the future?' We know the Democrats true agenda though, so no point in going into it.

          • I was being facetious since the collapse of oil prices in 2008 was the closest the oil market got to behaving like a rational free market is supposed to behave in many years.

        • Yes, but that is a temporary snapshot we are looking at. The peak of gas prices caused by speculators and hype. Then Bush did something about it...even if it was just starting a rumor that we would begin to drill here and now. And just 6 short months later look how gas prices dropped.

  • Think back to that rush of hope you got when Drill Here Drill Now first started getting talked about during W's second term.

    Do you remember how the idea, the mere thought of finally getting lower fuel prices seemed like the answer to half of the problems stacked inside your psyche? You needed gas to get to a date, to get to work, to go to the beach or a movie, or my favorite, if you just liked to drive around your town at night and smell the night air. All of those things needed gas to do, and it was going to be cheaper soon!

    Now here's the kicker; do you recall how OPEC responded to the mere threat of America striving for energy independence?

    I do; they blustered and screamed, threatened and cajoled us through puppet-written editorials across America, but in the end,

    CRUDE PRICES CAME DOWN DRAMATICALLY.

    Of course, lower prices right away seemed to appease America, we lost track of the ball, slacked up on our Senators and Representatives, the enviro-kooks pushed up on their hind legs and started doing what they do the loudest, and the price at the pump started to climb again to the $1.90 or so on average at the time of obama's crowning. But before they got back there, I remember them getting into the low $1.20's, friends. Think back...

  • I noticed one of the replies said politicians can't control gas prices. Oh sure, and that's why Democrats never ripped Bush 43 when prices spiked. My ass.

    • Getting in between Chuck Schumer & the media at a gas station with high prices is very dangerous. He has'nt done that lately, because even the Clusterschmuck knows that he should'nt draw attention to high gas prices.

          • The only reason I can spell is because Firefox has an automatic spell check feature where if you type in a word wrong it gets underlined with a squiggly red line. Sometimes I don't know how to spell a word, then I wing it, and Firefox doesn't even recognize what the heck I was trying to spell and gives me like a half dozen words, then I gotta try again, different variations. So who am I to judge?

            Also, I think politeness goes a long way. You should try it.

          • IDK, kick. I don't remember seeing him post around here before today. At least, he hasn't been a tailhole in his other posts. Just in this section for some reason.

          • Well, goodness me, seems the two of us are two peas then...I figure in his case, his diabetes helped that infection get out of control. At least the docs know where his infection is...Docs are just guessing with me, LOL. Because of the effect it is having on my hands I suspect there is something going on in my neck. (c-spine in particular)

          • Sorry about all that. Hoping you had turned the corner. Relatedly, another regular has a serious infection in his hand. He had to do a short stint at the VA hospital. Should be getting better with the massive antibiotic course he's on through the next few days.

          • Hopefully, the way I feel today is nothing more than the final thrashing about of the infection( or whatever it is) before it finally dies!

          • Well, I was feeling better yesterday, and thought the antibiotics were helping. Today , however, I have been battling a fever again and the pain in my ribs, spine and legs has returned. Hands are completely numb. (You know like I hit my funny bone except I didn't. Been like that for 2 weeks now.) Watching me trying to type is a hysterical event. But with jerk-wad around, I had better fix every freaking typo before I submit my post. Thank you for asking.
