Police unions in Cambridge, Massachusetts have come out in support of Sgt. James Crowley. They’re demanding an apology from President Obama for his statement that officers “acted stupidly” when they arrested black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr.
This should be interesting. The President has been more than happy to jet around the world apologizing to anyone and everyone whether they deserve it or not.
Now let’s see how long it takes him to apologize to Americans for once.

While Gates overreacted, the police should've left his home as soon as residency was established. It's not against the law to act a fool in your own home. I've observed some whites **cut up a storm** with the police, and yet not get arrested for their belligerence. Gates should be no different.

We can all cite examples of "I've observed ...", but the truth of the matter is DON'T RUN YOUR MOUTH TO A COP. PERIOD! Gates did and got arrested for it, big deal. If you want to turn it into a race thing, at least be honest about it. Here, I'll say it for you, Gates was arrested because he's black.

As for Crowley, he 'supports the president 110%' and, as a liberal, got what he voted for. The bad news is - we all did as well.
Professor Gates' entire identity is wrapped around being a black victim. He can't see that times have changed in America.

How upset would you be if you came home one day to find you had been robbed, and when you call the police to file a report they say "We were at your house earlier responding to a call about a possible break in, and the man we confronted said he lived there and we took his word for it." The police were doing the right thing to ask for ID to prove he lived there and he escalated it from there.
Can we get a transcript of Prof. Gates "rant" when the Cambridge Police were leaving his residence. This could give us a clue re: Gates behavior and how he provoked his own arrest. Where is Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson? We need their input on how this event "really" happened?
