Want to be a policeman in Dayton, Ohio? If you’re black, an ability to write your name is just about the only qualification necessary. Thanks to President Obama’s ironically-named Department of Justice, an “F” is now a passing grade.
ABC Dayton has the details:
Dayton is in desperate need of officers to replace dozens of retirees. The hiring process was postponed for months because the D.O.J. rejected the original scores provided by the Dayton Civil Service Board, which administers the test.
Under the previous requirements, candidates had to get a 66% on part one of the exam and a 72% on part two.
The D.O.J. approved new scoring policy only requires potential police officers to get a 58% and a 63%. That’s the equivalent of an ‘F’ and a ‘D’.
“It becomes a safety issue for the people of our community,” said Dayton Fraternal Order of Police President, Randy Beane. “It becomes a safety issue to have an incompetent officer next to you in a life and death situation.”
“The NAACP does not support individuals failing a test and then having the opportunity to be gainfully employed,” agreed Dayton NAACP President Derrick Foward.
… “If you lower the score for any group of people, you’re not getting the best qualified people for the job,” Foward said.
Welcome to America 2011, where the color of your skin is more important than the content of your skull.

More standards decline.
Actually, the ability to write your own name is an accomplishment not to be downplayed, when you consider names like Syd'quan, D'Brickashaw, Sinorice, Knowshon or NaVarro...
This has to be one of the most embarrassing things I have heard.
I think all falls in line with Al Gore's statement during his run for President where he quoted E Pluribus Unum as meaning Out of One, Many....
The Leftists want to divide America.
That's the question. Is it "racist" to let them wallow in their own stupidity or "racist" to expect them to live up to societies expectations? I guess it depends on who's "society" we are am talking about.
My husband, who has a way of cutting to the heart of the matter, reacted to me telling him about this story by saying, "Isn't that racist?"
As a sworn officer (will not say where) all any of us wants is the best person for the job who is going to do the right thing at the right time. None of us care about the color of someone’s skin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation. All that matters is that the person who is there with you knows what the hell they are doing. They will do it to the best of their ability and won’t leave a fellow officer hanging in the wind to save their own asses.
Believe me when I say I’ve seen political correctness run amuck and many of us with in this municipality are paying for it every day and every shift.
Like I said at the very beginning give me the BEST person for the job and the rest will take care of itself.
Can you imagine how INSULTING this must be to blacks?
I am deeply insulted and I am sure most black people would be especially if the implied racism in this can be explained.
How long until Beavis and Butthead write me a ticket?
Well, you'll have to wait until they exit the white house. Since the standards have been lowered, maybe the Obama's can qualify for the Dayton PD.
Airline pilots and surgeons should be chosen this way.....
What's even worse to me about this than the direct racism in these types of plans themselves is the indirect racism they create. I was reminded recently that plans like this have apparently been in effect for years for doctors. Someone said to me how he now chooses not to go to any black doctor because he can't be sure if they were the product of a plan like this.
A plan like this lowered the standards and discriminated based on race, and now that same plan creates a racist out of him because to be sure he is getting the best care he now has to discriminate based on race as well. Plans like this, supposedly "good-intentioned" to fight discrimination, wind up creating more of it. Amazing.
Sad... so sad...
It's all part of the plan Wes, it's all part of the plan.
