Prince Charles: A “fundamental transformation of global capitalism” is needed in order to tackle climate change. Say, how about starting by ditching something that’s totally useless, contributes nothing to society, costs a lot and worsens our carbon footprint… such as royal families.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

    Charles should try doing real work. Travel like the rest of us and then he can see what bull shit man made climate change is. Until then, he can just STFU.

  • Well , the House of Windsor has had a pretty good run. It brought Britain intact through 2 world wars and into the Space Age and Digital Age. One buffleheaded buffoon in all that time is a pretty good record, and probably better than we had in the White House through those same years.

    But someone tell me -- is there ANY proposed solution to "Global Warming" that somehow does NOT invoke the need for totalitarian marxism?

      • I'll take this a step further, Charles should not assume the throne when she does kick the bucket. William should be the guy, & the British people would rather him be King then his dumb dad. But that worthless asshole Charles will not consider doing that at all. It would be the classy thing to do, but then again, he wouldn't know class if someone rammed it up his royal ass. As Diana said in a BBC interview, her marriage with Charles became crowded once Camilla appeared on the scene, & that is on him. Many Brits hate him more then they already did when that became known, & if he has the chance to pass up a chance to be King when the Queen passes away, he would do the royal family a world of good in terms of PR & goodwill. Let's see if he has the ability to put someone else over his worthless ass.

        • Camilla was never NOT part of their marriage. And him marrying her after Diana's death told me all I needed to.know about Chuck.

          • Camilla agreed with this marriage and thought, incorrectly, that Diana would be a push over and put no threat nor problems to her relationship with Charles.

            She thought that she would just be the innocent dove, have the children and allow for her and Charles to see one another without a peep.*

            However, b*tch survived and Diana is dead... that kind of pisses me off. However it is what it is.

            What SHOULD have happened is that Charles should have just married Camilla BEFORE she got married with Parker-Bowles and just live with her as a married man and woman and have the children and whatever. Now, she wasn't a virgin and she wasn't royal nor aristocratic. I feel that if Charles had simply been a man and spoke to his Mother and tell her that sure she ain't a virgin but she is with me and has been with me all this time so whatever and okay fine she ain't royal nor aristocratic but her family has been linked with their family for centuries. It is better that she be his wife than his mistress and make a young woman unhappy... considering that it is possible his own Father strayed from time to time, this may have swayed the Mother to just seek her son's happiness.

            Communication and the lack thereof was at fault here.

            *In essence that is what HER husband did, got out of the way so she and Charles could be together while she had the respectability of a convenient marriage. However at some point he got tired of that sh*t and divorced her ass, and I don't blame him.

          • Charles fiddle farted around with her for years. But he need e d to produce an heir, something he couldn't do with Camilla. You notice the emphasis on virginity was markedly absent for Kate Middleton. She and Will had essentially lived together, and she was unlikely to be a virgin after so many years together. Charles and the rest of the Royal family plucked a young, shy woman from her life and used her badly, then made her feel she was the one lacking. It was criminal.

          • Agreed. That is why I stated that since Camilla and him were essentially exclusive before she married Parker-Bowles, he should have just been a man and talked to his "Mommy". Kate and William lived as basically as man and wife for 10 years. They started sleeping together in college. The Queen most have realized her and her son's mistake and not EMPHASIZE a virgin aristocrat/royal girl be the one he married, in order to not repeat the same BS.

            This situation with Diana could have EASILY be avoided. However, even with that said, I believe that in the end whatever had to happen had to happen and Diana would have been happy with his son's choice.
