Rodio’s father told WABC he had no idea his son was running a prostitution ring, but, “I knew something was going on. Drugs, that I know. I’ve tried to get him into so many drug programs.”

So many of those homes are set up in such a way that those living in the other floors have no idea what's going on in the rest of the house. They are multi family setups, and just because the son lives in the same house doesn't mean he lives with his parents.
There are separate entrances and no connection between floors in many of them.
If the guy across the street was running a drug and prostitution den, I'd know it.
