Prunes are not a laxative, EU rules

The EU has ruled that prunes do not have a laxative effect and producers cannot say that they do. “European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) experts said there was ‘insufficient’ evidence of a link between the dried plums and normal bowel function after looking at three studies of prune consumption.” Don’t laugh – laxitives are dangerous to bureaucrats with schit for brains.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. • How can the EU say that???? For God's sake I have to go everytime I see any of the old prunes of the liberal party..Pelosi, Clinton, Waters, Boxer, Helen Thomas (shes the worst) and of course Frank...... Sometimes just seeing Olivia post here works better that a greasy burrito..............

  • Tonight will be mostly dark with streaks of light toward morning.
Charlie the tuna dies of Mercury poisoning.
Pen pal stabs pal with pen.

    George Carlin

  • Also new EU rules:

Sunrise takes place in the evening.
    Water is NOT wet!
    Fish need publicly-funded bicycles.

  • Prunes are ittle powerhouses of energy and health benefits. If these fucktards at the EU don't believe that they have a medically proven laxative effect, then I dare them to eat a whole bag full of them and see what happens.

    • That was my thought SSDD!! If they think prunes (with their very high fiber content) do not have a laxative effect, all they need to do is eat a few (the whole bag will have them pretty much ready for a colonoscopy!)

      • That was what I was thinking also! Go ahead and down a bag of prunes! It will be about 1 hour before your entire digestive tract is clear as a bobsled run!

    • Gotta wash that down with a large coffee from McDonalds... We could have the press conference in the John

  • Of course they don't like prunes, eating them would mean they couldn't walk around like they have that broomstick shoved up their asses anymore.

  • Something bigger is going on behind the scenes here. First it was 'water doesn't hydrate you' and now this. What are they really up to?

      • And may I further add: what is the other message we constantly get regarding pharmaceuticals? "They're so expensive, the only way people can afford them is through socialized health care!" (God! All the election year whining about some old lady who can't afford her 17 prescriptions! "OMG! What are we going to do? She really, honest-to-god NEEDS all those medications!" Yeah. Because her health problems are because of a deficiency of zyteramoproxilitol or whatever the hell they're pushing this week.)

Constantly promoting "necessary" drugs is just another way to shove their way in and take control.

    • I popped in here to say that. Amazing. There was also a flap here in the US awhile back where they said Cheerios had better stop saying they lower cholesterol or they would be classified as a drug. And what's the message there? Only DRUGS can fix you! Only pharmaceuticals can do you any good at all. Food? Meh. That's not, like, what your body needs or anything.

  • No wonder these idiots are broke. Great way to spend your time and money. At least they could have done something productive with tax dollars like the U.S. and run shrimp on treadmills!!
