A mass murderer sees ‘gun free zone’ and reads ‘I can kill plenty of people before the cops ever get here.’ The good doctor read it as “Sorry asshole, we lied! Bang! We expect by next week we’ll be reading he was fired for not following company policy.

He'll be kicked out of the American Psychiatric Association for sure.
They should make this guy the chief administrator of the hospital! He obviously has his shit together, and is much better equipped to handle emergencies than the idiot in charge now!
Good for the doctor for taking the necessary measures to protect himself and others. The PC hospital administration will no doubt fire them for doing exactly what each person has a natural instinct. Survival.
I will never understand the type of insanity that tells a person they have to die but take others with them.

I think all you need to know about humanity is summed up by a psychiatrist that carries a gun at work.
That and the Doc carried against the rules of the hospital- thank God. Concealed carry in scrubs? Not fun.
You can fire the doctor, but you aren't going to bury him.
Thumbs up on three hits to the bad guy- and more reason why you don't stop shooting until the threat is eliminated. An another reason why dumb regulations like 7 round magazine limits are going to get good guys killed.
