This harrassment occured 15 years ago and NOW she's reporting it? Sorry, honey. I believe the statute of limitations has long since run out on this one. I appreciate that when you are younger, you are hesitant sometimes to act. But if you miss the opportunity then, there is nothing more to be done. Use a shrink move. Write him a letter, revealing how his actions made you feel. About how enbarrasing the harrassment was, especially for a young girl. Lay it all out. then nurn the lettter, put this in the past and get on with your life.
Wait a minute she and her fellow muslim in MI want to live under Shira law. Now she wants to use American courts and our US laws and Constitution to file a lawsuit. If she's a true muslim, she has no standing. She and other muslim women know that they are to be sub servant to any man. That's what her religion of peace and respect teaches. Guess she better just live with it and accept her fate. Or, convert to Christianity where all are respected.

You know - look at what Christians do when someone like waynesboro baptist church comes along and bastardizes the name of Christianity. They disavow the group. They protest the protestors. They make it clear that these people do NOT speak for other Christians, and they are not allowed to HIDE behind other Christians. Christians speak out against them, publicly and insist that they are not interpreting the word of God correctly.
But muslims do not do the same. After the Boston bombing, like 25 people at the older brothers mosque said that they recognized him immediately. But did ANY of them call authorities? Nope. Not a one! Why? What possible reason could they have for not being personally horrified by this, and immediately doing what is best for OUR collective society? There is only one possible explanation - and it is the thing that ties them all together - the mosque.
I have no doubt that many, if not most, of those muslims who attend that mosque are peaceful people who would never go bomb a marathon. Face it - THAT level of fanaticism is rare, and is most likely a mental illness, but the fact is that they are "softly" approving of these tactics, by not immediately, publicly and loudly disavowing them. By not turning in a "brother" who has done such a horrific crime.
If religion is more powerful to these people than society - they have no real place in OUR society. Take your religion and go back to a place where it IS the society, or adapt your culture to the existing culture of your home.
Karmaa, I wish I could believe ya sweetheart, but my experience with Islam and Muslims tells me different. It's not that they're moderates that they don't get involved, it's because they are Muslim and following the Hadith, the Qur'an and Sharia' that they don't get involved. They may not be the type A radicals but they are the type B followers of Islam and what the Prophet Mohammad says is the word and the will of Allah...end of discussion!
