Just wait until those racist South Carolina Republicans find out they nominated a black man as their candidate in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. Why they must be as dumb as the South Carolina Democrats who nominated Alvin Greene.
What’s that? They knew Tim Scott was black and they nominated him anyway? Hmmmm. This does not fit the liberal narrative. Not at all.
The Associated Press has details guaranteed to boggle the minds of liberals across the fruited plain:
South Carolina voters have nominated a black Republican state lawmaker for an open congressional seat, rejecting one of the state’s legendary political names.
Tim Scott beat Paul Thurmond, the son of the late U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond, in a GOP runoff Tuesday in the state’s coastal 1st District.
Scott is now a heavy favorite in a district that has elected a Republican congressman for three decades. He is poised to become the nation’s first black GOP congressman since 2003 when Oklahoma’s J.C. Watts retired.
The 44-year-old Scott was the first black Republican in the South Carolina legislature in more than a century when elected in 2008. Before that, he served 13 years on Charleston County Council.
Although Scott is black, he probably won’t be invited to join the Black Congressional Caucus because he lacks one of the group’s other key requirement – he’s not corrupt.

Considering the Republican party was created to stop slavery, this comes as no surprise. If all of our children were taught the real history, there would be more black republicans. What we need is more honest, open dialog...something the Democrats will resist with every fiber of their being.

way cool. and he's from Charleston no less....where the Daughters of the Confederacy are housed in a building that used to host the slave auctions, and just a few miles form Ft. Sumter. People of Charleston believe in freedom, civil rights and justice for all more than these Yankee liberals. Gotta love the red states of America.
Actually, the Daughters of the Confederacy are housed in the old market of Charleston. The selling and trading of slaves were banded from this site.
