  • For what should we be ashamed of ourselves? Where is the BS? Be more complete in your posts if you are going down that route.

• One forseeable problem is that the new round of big tax increases - "Gee, we just discovered that all the bail-outs and new programs we started will cost more than we originally calculated" - won't come out until after the November elections.

  Also, don't discount the probability of last-minute scandals being announced, too late to be properly refuted, involving any Conservative constitutional candidates that look like they have a better-than-even chance of winning.

  Remember, Washington is playing by Chicago rules now.

• Margaret-it is not, nor has it ever been about banking cartels-that is a left wing statement. It isn't about big corps, banking cartels, or republicans taking away liberties.
  It is simply about being safe, providing a safe place for my kids to develop and grow. It is about going somewhere, where they won't be castigated for showing patriotism, for excelling in school, for holding the door for a little old lady, sticking up for the little guy, and where their' day's pay is equal to their day's work.
  Banking cartels are a joke. While I am a banker(on an international level) and I am involved with these so called cartels, I see one thing-capitalism. The fact that our state legislators, and our federal monkeys in congress allow the banks to do whatever they want is the problem. you give any capitalist carte blanche, and he is going to write the biggest check he can. So, to blame anything on banking cartels is mindless dribble that I usually only hear from rachel maddow or ron paul.
  The basis for our destruction is multi-fold, but I will just speak about banking for a moment. Our congress, and W turned a blind eye to fannie and freddie. When slick willy was in office-banks in the US were forced to make loans they knew would never be paid back. Of course, we were all glad to do it, because they were funded and owned by fannie/freddie. We collected our groovy fees, and handed the mortgage notes off to f &f. After willy the cocaine trafficer was gone and W was in, a bunch in the congress tried to tell him and the dolts like bawny fwank and chris dodd that the end was near, but they didn't listen. W said hey congress do sompin, but that was the extent of his voice. And voila-the beginning of the end was born. After that, and after the IB's on Wall couldn't make any more dough on those notes, all of which were used as collateral to issue MBS of some sort or another, the IB's started gambling on another instrument-credit default swaps. ....they were issuing a financial instrument, that was against a financial instrument, that was a mortgage held by joe shit the rag man on the south side of chicago, who had never had a job in his life, though he was driving a brand new caddillac. So these IB's who have no affiliation to the so-called cartels you speak of, but who have giant inroads to the DNC (see the IHTM piece about rich dems and their contributions/particularly those from NYC), just kept on inventing new ways to gamble against stuff that already existed. And in order to do this, and create a saleable item, they turned to the large insurers and re-insurers. Those cats were more than glad to write multi-hundred billion dollar insurance policies(and pray like mofos that the instruments they were insuring didn't go bust). Well-the day came when they went bust. And instead of telling them all tough shit-we the tax payers bailed them out. What bank cartel is involved? NONE. Our brilliant federal government, so as to make people not run their banks, FORCED all the big international banks who operate inside the US to take TARP funds-FORCED THEM TO. Also forced some smaller banks to do so-by threatening their bords with civil rights claims cause they ignored slick willy and didn't open up shop in the inner city.
  So, the simple fact of the matter is this-the IB's on Wall, aint part of any cartel. They are investment banks. Big difference between them and say, JPM Chase. They got bailed out. Chase, and friends were all forced to take TARP under the "too big to fail" rule, that some retard in DC thought up-which is total and utter bullshit. There after, the big re-insurers, like AIG paid out all of the bail out funds we gave them to foreign banks-none of which is part of a cartel, all of which are private sector outfits-capitalists who gambled, and were saved by the US taxpayer, because of that retard in DC who made up "Too big to fail".....and said that AIG's reinsurance division whas in deed too big.... All that did was make it clear to capitalists around the world that they can keep on keeping on-and there will be impunity. That is bullshit-and that Margaret, has nothing to do with capitalist cartels and everything to do with socialist governments!
  To answer your question ben-it is NZ. New conservative PM who has lowered taxes, etc-moved away from the giant socialist stronghold on the citizens and government. It is small, small population, beautiful, temperate, and far, far from the US. It has no strategic value to say china or russia, so it won't be invaded, and is pretty much a little switzerland in the middle of the south pacific. Only it isn't within missile range of Iran, or NK!

• Until Republicans reach down and see if they have a pair conservatives will have no representation.

• The problem is, it'll probably be a while before we find a country that's LESS socialist than U.S. But I could be wrong - I'll admit that I don't know everything about every country.

  • I did some searching immediatly after ombam was elected and then searched again after the healthcare bill, (uh,cough) "passed". I can't find a less socialist country than the U.S. but Canada is next in line followed by Austrailia and the U.K. But all had rationed, opps I mean socialized medicine.

• You can't run from the central banking cartels unless you are planning on going somewhere semi-undeveloped - they are at the heart of the problem and will follow you wherever you go.

• I will remember it forever-that is the month/year when I contacted a realtor in another country and began looking for a safe haven for my family. That is when I saw a moron obama voter on television who said that she didn't have to worry about a car payment, rent payment, or insurance payment-cause barry was gonna take care of her-and that was when I nearly beat my son's teacher half to death, when she did a week on obama, and 5 minutes on McCain, and then had a "mock election" that was a landslide for barry-she was just like the MSM. Bet she is kicking herself right about now(sure wish I had).

  • Have you spoken to this teacher? It would be interesting if she is still drinking the Kool Aid or if she is waking up to reality. We cannot pray in public schools but we can use politics to indoctrinate kids to a point of view. How interesting.

    The only way to escape this country would be to form a new country kind of like the Pilgrims did, but there is no space on the Planet to form a new country. It reminds me of those old shows or documentaries that by now we would have colonies on the moon. It would be something to leave this planet to the idiots and Star Trek to another planet and start from fresh but alas not there yet.

    We cannot escape socialism/communism it is part of pretty much every country in the world (even in smaller ways), unless it is Islamic country and there ain't no way I am moving to an Islamic country it is worst. We have to find a way to change this country back to basics.

  • Just out of curiosity, what other countries have you been looking at? I've been kicking around the idea myself lately, and may seriously consider that if things don't start to improve here.
