Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) gets standing ovation for speech on over-regulation. He said publicly what many of us say privately every day.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. • labman57:"Fiscal conservatives are primarily interested in ... Increasing the income divide between the wealthiest Americans and the rest of society"

Baloney. Fiscal conservatives want a robust middle class and they even want the poor to do well to spur on business and help all of society. It's you liberals who want the poor and even the middle class dependent on government to increase its power.

    • The more middle class people have jobs, the more money the evil corporations make. Trying to hold down the masses isn't in their best interests. It IS, however, in the interests of the left.

      • I can't believe they're on this winning streak without Votto, though I suppose they're playing some of the weaker teams right now. They're pushing the Nationals and the Yankees for the best record in baseball. The only downer to me about Reds' games right now are the Obama commercials I have to sit through because Ohio is so coveted electorally. They showed the one last night where he was whining about Romney unfairly portraying his "You didn't build that" gaffe.

  • Fiscal conservatives are primarily interested in two outcomes:
    1) Increasing the income divide between the wealthiest Americans and the rest of society
    2) Increasing profit margins for corporations via lowered taxes and minimized environmental and workplace regulations

Reducing unemployment is a secondary issue -- if said corporations opt to use their increased profits to hire additional employees, that's their prerogative.

Alas, historical evidence overwhelming demonstrates that increased corporate profits do not translate into increased hiring -- increased demand for goods and services does.
And, of course, increased demand requires increased purchasing power by that subset of society which does the majority of the purchasing, i.e., the middle class.

    • If yo don't know what you're talking about, then you should remain silent until you do. Quit listening to Left wing sound bites, and do some study and research. You will find that 1) Not only are ALL Republican voters not monsters, but that your accustions of increasing the income divide and increasing profit margins apply just as much to Democrats as Republicans. Ask the profit margin on Heinz Catsup last year. I don't hear Nancy Pelosi giving away half her fortune (which she made in part by insider trading, using information she received in the HOUSE.) Has Harry Reid adopted any of the homeless immigrants in his state of Nevada? Not that I've heard. And those are just a few. Look at the income records for evry Democrat in the COngress, then for every Republican in Congreess. I imagine you will find a great many wealthy on both sides of the aisle. As well as a few who are more middleclass. So shut the hell up with the parroting of lines you don't understand, and do not know to be true.

      • Troll flavor of the day Robert..labman is just here to promote the liberal agenda.....

  • The IRS will be after him along with the EPA, DHS and any other alphabet soup government agency you can think of.

  • He got quite a response there. That gentleman that came down to sit behind him and cheer him on is in deep trouble, though.
