If one is trying to drive an economy and a nation into the ground in order to create chaos, why would you even try to enrich that nation with an energy policy based on reality instead of fabricated "hockey sticks" etc..
Peak Oil was based on projections of easily obtainable oil, but since then massive new deposits have been found almost everywhere. Too bad "Dear Leader" and his environmental gestapo the EPA refuses to develop them.

There is now a surplus of oil in the US. We are now an EXPORTER of oil. Oil companies are making record profits. Yet they can make even MORE profit by selling it to the highest bidder.
Any oil extracted from US soil, be it ANWAR, offshore, or in National Parks will be put on the open market to the highest bidder (read China)
And yet the Republicans see fit to continue the subsidies to oil companies.
Do your homework and then come back and apologise for your ignorance...imports are increasing and production decreasing and have been for some time......
Valero Energy has a refinery near the Eagel Oil Shale formation. It produces some 100,000 tons of fuel. Until recently, all that refining was done one foreign oild, cshipped into Houston and transported to the facility. Since the Eagle Shale operation opened, they are refining 70-80% domestic oil, and only 20-30% imported. And that's dropping. THey expect to be refining 100$|% domestic oild in the near future.
Where did you get that? I know we're a net exporter of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel but that's a totally different animal. If you'd honestly like to know why, I'll try, if you're just parroting slogans I fell for it and should be ashamed of myself.
