As conservatives, we are, of course, cold-hearted and uncaring by definition. Liberal definition, that is.
That being said, there’s a sick part of us that hopes every eco-bonehead who drives a Prius discovers that uncontrollable acceleration is real.
Think of it as Darwin in action.
Oh, wait, we’re conservatives and don’t believe any of that Darwin stuff. We forgot.

I have a new workout routine called the Prius - Treadmill begins at a moderate pace, and then there is sudden acceleration for a couple of minutes, dial 911, and return to a moderate pace. Repeat.
Works pretty well except for the bashing my nose on the control panel now and then.
That was funny...
Odd synchronicity: One of the girls I am seeing does have a Prius. Ever try to have a make out sesh in one of those? Not working out too well, I can assure you of that. Add that to the list of many, many problems that hybrids have. Hybrids suck.
I drive an Avalon (also Toyota) and I will say that Toyota was very good about contacting me. I got a call from the salesman who sold me that car, an additional call from another person at the dealership and two letters.
Let's hope the Japanese join the 21st century and change their organizational culture to prevent future events like this from happening:

They need some 'change they can believe in'! Yet seeing how well that worked out for us in the States... Not so much maybe.
Now if you will excuse me, I have to drive really, really, really fast. Unintentionally of course. Lousy self minded gas pedal...
