Saudi sheikh says women shouldn’t drive because it damages their ovaries and pelvis. “‘Physiological science and functional medicine studied this [and found] that it automatically affects ovaries and rolls up the pelvis,” said the sheikh. This is two years after Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council issued a “scientific” report which claimed that letting women drive would “provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce.” Guess now we know why Saudi Arabia has never won a Nobel Prize… in any subject.

  • Can someone tell Lindsey Lohan about this study? And her vodka soaked mother? Seriously, religion and science haven't been very compatible over the years, but this is some of the dumbest shit I have ever heard of. My Mom has been driving for 50 years and I was born perfectly healthy 10 years later. My baby sister got a car for her 16th birthday and she and my brother in law can't pass each other in a hallway without her getting pregneant (Christmas is getting very expensive for Uncle Geoff). I can't respect a religion that has such little respect for women that they resort to such nonsense to keep them from having the most rudimentary of rights.

Of course that was 50 years ago. Perhaps someoneshould update thesheik's knowlege base. Start the update effective 1500 years ago.

  • Very impressive Islam.. Nothing here counters my prevailing view that your long-dead and brief period of scientific enlightenment had little to it, other then the conquest of superior cultures in Greco-Roman and Persian worlds

    • You are right. The conquests though were mainly due to extreme forms of violence and never letting up on their attacks, so I wouldn't necessarily think that as an accomplishment. At least not benign and they never truly welcomed differences, once they conquered they forcefully imposed their will on people. Those that didn't submit were either heavily taxed (if they were good producers), they were maimed/murdered or enslaved. Again not something that I would brag about.

      Other than the number zero what exactly have they done? I also believe that their discovery of zero was a stolen idea. Even their religion is an amalgamation of other religions and in all truth it was made specifically to appear legitimate in the eyes of religious people, but it really isn't. They try to say that their god is the same G-d of the Jews, but it isn't. Their god never truly appeared to Momo an angel did, G-d appeared to Abraham and to Moses and etc. They talk about St. Mary and how wonderful she was, but do not allow people to believe she was a virgin that gave birth to Christ (so was she crazy? was she a whore?). Makes no sense! Jesus was crazy and a liar (because He is not the Son of G-d as He stated according to Muslims) but they "pray for him" and He was a good prophet? What? Jesus and Momo are best buddies and Jesus will come back to tell us all that Momo had it right and we have to listen to him...? What? Yet they say that essentially Jesus was crazy and a liar! So Jesus is crazy and a liar about one thing, but we have to pray for Him instead of to Him to appear legitimate to the eyes of Christians and accept his message that Momo is a-okay?!

      I mean seriously how can anyone believe that Islam is a legitimate religion that merits equality to Judaism and Christianity? It is insane!

    • That brief period of scientific enlightenment must have been before Mohammed and Islam darkened the middle east. More likely they stole enlightenment from countries they conquered and claimed it for the short time it survived before the darkness snuffed it out.

        I mean, lets be fair. The Romans conquered peoples and assimilated their ideas.. as have many other powers in the West. But they almost always built upon the gains. Islam threw it all away.

          • Yes. You see that in the way they (the men who benefit the most from Islam), try to control women and children. If a woman is too sexy by showing a bit of her hair, she is at fault for the rape she has to endure because the man doesn't have the self control necessary to not rape her. Why should he have it? His religion does not ask him to have it. It ask him to force it upon others and blame them from their lack of control.

            Since a girl was raised a Christian she has to be forced to submit to a "marriage" after a rape. So once her body and mind are desecrated, she can then be controlled and she is the one that sinned by not being a Muslim to begin with.

            All of that only makes sense in the mind of the criminally insane.

          • Perfect example is the way they force their women to dress. Even then it's the woman's fault if they get raped. It was in the news a year or so ago of a woman in Afghanistan that was tied up and raped by her cousin's husband, leaving her traumatized and pregnant. Instead of being protected, she was thrown in jail for adultery. The only safe way out was to marry her attacker.

      • Only when in the presence of a woman, either he's showing off or he's mad, so it's still the woman's fault even then.

    • I stopped for a red light today, and an elderly woman 2 lanes over tried to stop when she realized the light had changed. She finally came to a full stop DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, and wouldn't move until the light changed, even refused to back up and clear the intersection.

      Where the hell is a cop when this kind of thing happens?

      • I ask myself the same question when a man cuts me off with his big ass truck slows down to get on the next lane and cut someone off and then speed away way over the limit even though he could have essentially caused several accidents in his wake. Where the hell is a cop...?

        • Or has been given 2 miles of warnings that their lane is going away, but wait until it i s gone then pull into bumper to bumper traffic to get back in a moving lane. Ever see The Allstate wher the guy has been teling the chick that men are superior drivers. She has just gotten a bonus check for not having an acciden t for six mo NN ths. Whe he tries to argue she says (in the annoucer voice) SILENCE!

          • Seriously it is so disgusting. I have to have four eyes two in front and two in the back when it comes to Texan (male) drivers with their big ass trucks and SUVs they are driving insane like it is going out of style. Never a cop!

          • Oh I see the problem. No one ever explainedto you that truck and bigSUV drivers have special privileges onthe road. Don't they?

    • I have noticed something over the years.. it may be BS, but seems to me that short people have a lot of problems on the road with lane awareness. They need booster seats or something. And I know this category would statistically skew towards shrinking elderly, some regional/ethnic groups, and some females
