More feely good BS from local liberal government. $1 fines for homeowners. So they'll need to create a department and hire 100 people to process fines. Figure in manpower, postage, billing forms, return envelopes and software and you're probably looking at it costing the city $3.25 to issue a $1 fine to a homeowner. A fine/bill that as a homeowner, I'm going to toss in the garbage, not the recycle bin. So they'll need to issue me another fine, which i'll toss in th....

Oh, and evidently, near Seattle, someone can shoot your dog on your property if they feel that you dog will be in the way during deer hunting season... A friend found that out yesterday. So she took her dogs and left her house to stay with family during deer season.

How are they going to know if you compost it or stuff it doe the disposal? Screw them!
Because, they are going to issue composting barrels to every Seattle resident, and create a new goobermint position of Compost Inspector at a salary of $ 250,000/yr for the mayor's brother in law. The fines for non-compliance will be enormous, and will be used to install infrared and thermal imaging surveillance cameras over every compost barrel to provide 24/7 monitoring, and pay the Compost Inspector a 22% commission from every fine levied.
Food is biodegrable and will continue to support life such as seagulls and many small mammals.
Why not stop the use of non biodegradable plastic made with petroleum instead?
