Secret beaches of Malibu: War erupts over app that directs users past obstructive wealthy home owners. “Homeowners in Malibu – include some of the wealthiest and most famous people in the country – have long used a variety of means to keep the beaches to themselves including padlocks, gates, menacing signs, security guards and lawsuits.” #Occupy Malibu – now there’s a bowel movement we’d like to see the MouseStreamMedia get behind.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Libturds on the beach, maybe the Occupoopers need a Normandy like invasion of Malibu, hell I might even help them.

  • I have always been amazed at the way people will cram themselves elbow-to-elbow into lakefront (or oceanfront or riverfront) lots and then act like assholes trying to make sure nobody else can enjoy the water. I've had a few run-ins with these people myself - once I remember tipping my canoe and dragging it out of the water and being told I was on private property. WTF!? I told the guy to talk to the river, not me, and said we would leave once the canoe was upright and reloaded and if that wasn't good enough he could kiss my ass. Same thing on a Lake Michigan beach - they're always trying to stop people from walking down the beach. It's ridiculous.
