Another wonderful thing brought to you by the democrat party and the democrat lite party (i.e. RINOS). The law was passed in 2008 and GW Bush vetoed it. The democrats overrode his veto.
Not to worry, the government knows how much you need to live, the rest is required to help a multimillionaire senator live the lifestyle their accustomed to.
I can't imagine that a 2nd year law student couldn't get this thrown out of court in 5 minutes, given a judge not in the pocket (a real problem these days, I concede.)
1) Statute of limitations.
2) Laches (an older but similar concept which basically says "You did nothing for 30 years, WTF are you thinking?")
3) Equitable estoppel: an idea of fundamental fairness, i.e., "Don't be stupid."
4) The big one: Failure to state a claim upon which relief may be granted. Even if everything you say is true, there is nothing here to connect the defendant with the claim. 30 years ago, Mr. J stiffed you on taxes. How does that have ANYTHING to do with Miss K, my client?

Now the court will hopefully hear Miss K's countersuit for harassment, intimidation, abuse of power, and being an asshat in public.

This is the new way of funding the gubbermint: pick somebody at random, make sure he or she is not a Democrook crony or donor (or more embarrassing, a selected official) and then send them a bill for something they may or may not have done YEARS ago and demand $$$$. Progressive! Insanity!
What "send them a bill"? They just confiscated the money and didn't even tell them until they asked where their money was!
