Just when you thought the Shirley Sherrod incident was fading away, up pops Republican Rep. Steve King with a whole new perspective.
In this clip, the conservative congressman tells talk show host Ben Shapiro that Sherrod was hired by the USDA under highly unusual circumstances.
King tells the story of the Pickford Farms case, in which black farmers were discriminated against. Claims were paid out to more than 20,000 black farmers despite the fact that there were only 18,000 black farmers in America.
Turns out that one of the largest payouts went to – are you ready? – Shirley Sherrod. And the timing between her payout and her initial hiring at the USDA raises some questions in King’s mind.
Hmmmmm.
(Read all of our Shirley Sherrod stories, and we have a lot of them.)

Not surprising. There isn't a single thing that goes on under this administration that doesn't have ties to social justice and redistribution of wealth aka Marxism.
Corruption... veiled with the nonsense of fake racism. What else is new?
She is a TRUE socialist.
Coalition of victims groups indeed...
They should start investigation NOW and this should be forwarded to Fox News.
"Turns out that one of the largest payouts went to – are you ready? – Shirley Sherrod."
So, she's a farmer, too?
When there's gov't payouts available, lots of people consider themselves "farmers." Check this out: http://www.nypress.com/article-21342-the-making-of-manhattans-elite-welfare-farmers.html
The US is repeating the history of the failure of Roman representative democracy. Just as ancient Rome did, we elect representatives ( Congress et al ) to conduct the Peoples Business. Just as happened in Rome, US voters have learned that if they elect the right people they can feed at the public trough of "free" benefits (govt. pork). Just as in Rome, eventually the social and political structure becomes so corrupt the people unwittingly "elect" someone who openly promises "the good life" at little or no cost to the people but has his own unspoken agenda.
We appear to be rapidly approaching, if we have not already reached, that third stage and now await the appearance of a "Nero" to dominate and rule over us. Considering the lack of sanity that seems to have gripped both politicians and populace, all it will take is a massive "crisis" for the dictator to seize control with popular approval. Ready for the promised bread and circuses?
Yes.... Yes... Yes. Exactly. Society NEVER learns from the past. It goes up and it goes down. We will enter into the last stage of implosion (corruption, overtaxation, etc) AND attacks from the outside which has happened to pretty much every single world power (or kingdoms) since the beginning of history and then it will restart again OR we will enter the final stage of the end of the human history as we know it.
I vote for the second. I am ready to go home. I like and appreciate this life and surely there is a lot that I would like to do, but if the time has come for this world to end, then so be it. If we are going to enter into another cycle of civilization going down the crapper and then rising up again then I wish the next generations luck.
You better believe the "Nero" is coming and soon it could be the big evil one or just another human being, but either case, all I got to say is that I am thinking about taking survival classes (living in wilderness/desert/etc). I am not joking I am really giving it some serious thought, I want NOTHING to do with the next (corrupt stage) of Babylon or Rome. I am seriously planning what to do when things get to that point.
I think about this constantly, and one key question pops to mind every time: Is it possible for a civilization to build itself to a state of affluence and not become a land of lazy lotus-eaters?
Look at the mid-20th century in America. We were still energized with the love of constructing massive things — bridges, dams, rockets to the moon — still imbued with a sense of duty to God, family structure and national pride. And then… along comes the “Let it all hang out” generation. Smoke pot, laugh at monogamy and other “uptight” institutions, question hard work, etc.
Is it possible to have a civilization like the ‘50s and not have it degenerate into something like the ‘60s? Is it a natural lifespan of a culture? How can duty and honor be retained when everyone decides to mock them and eject them?
I do think about it too. The ONLY answer I get is that through human efforts ALONE and without G-d in the picture it will NEVER be possible for a society to keep sustaining itself in a position of affluence, real justice and righteousness and not degenerate into crap.
Think about it this way, this entire world is in decay. We are born we get old and we die. We decay, the world itself decays. Our ideas and philosophies decay. Governments decay. Everything decays. The only way to PREVENT or ERADICATE decay is for G-d to be absolutely center and in front. Once He is not allowed nor given the respect and the position in society that it is due to Him, the society will decay. Then it will understand that it did wrong seek a Higher Power again and then go up again until they forget about Him and enter into decay once again. This is the story of the Jews OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The story of all civilizations, world powers and kingdoms throughout history.
The only answer is G-d as far as I understand it. I don't think due to Free Will that we will ever have a perfect society that sustains goodness in all aspects of life. Even the 50's weren't necessarily the best of times as there was still apartheid in this country so a lot of people were not affluent, etc. So the only society that will be safe from decay will be a G-d centered society and since not all people will want to obey G-d (due to sin) then the only thing that I can think of is that this perfect society will only exist once this world's history is put to an end.
My swabbie friend above hit the nail on the head. Man's depravity without God was written about thousands of years ago, and is evident every time you pick up a newspaper. Even the best system will be corrupted eventually, always has, always will, unless centered on God's principles. Solomon wrote it something like this, "There is nothing new under the sun". And yet, modern day "intellectuals" deny what is plainly visible right before their eyes.
I like the way you think. It is as though Cultures have stages of development just like individuals. Many individuals go through stages that seem self destructive and basically "grow up" because they have a natural desire for independence and Liberty, meaning they don't want to be dependent and incarcerated... Most societies do not have a solid foundation and lack the focal point to strive for, but I'm hoping ours is different... There sure are a lot of people talking about the Constitution these days and with some hard work we can hopefully get back or "Grow Up" if you prefer.
You are 100% correct about the Roman analogy Sir. I have been telling people about how our nations current history parallels Rome since the "80's". LBJ's "Great Society" was the beginning of the "Give us bread and circus's" era and now it is culminating in the ruling body's misguided endorsement of allowing any and all "barbarians" to cross the borders and be made citizens. As far as likening Obongo to Nero, I tend to liken him more to Commodus, (the real person, not the character from the Russel Crow movie), vain, simple minded, paranoid, prone to creating conspiracies to justify his acts of violence upon the people and nation of Rome, quick to "negotiate" peace and foster friendship toward barbarian enemies who would continue to plot the down-fall of Rome. Oh yes, and the "celebrity" status he reveled in as a "gladiator" preforming for his beloved plebeian supporters in the arena. The only difference is at least Commodus was a true son of Rome and not born in Kenya.
Yeah I dont think we are Nero stage yet, but it will happen soon enough. Obama is a tool, he has no real spine to speak of.
Addition to above to forstall misunderstanding:
I strongly favor our form of government as laid out and enumerated in the US Constitution. It's weakness, as recognized by the original writers, lies in the fact that it is only a good system when the people are possessed of a "godly character". As US society in general ( but not everyone ) is devolving into a secular "tolerant" nation of MSM-informed sheeple, Constitutional government as envisioned by the founders will become impossible. Sicut erat in principio, ET NUNC.
Exactly. In Romans (New Testament) it states that we are to obey the laws and respect the government HOWEVER right next to it there is an UNDERSTANDING and assumption that the leaders are godly leaders to begin with. Is the reason why a lot of the founders of the country believed that belief in a benign G-d (from the top down) was necessary as it was practical for so many reasons.
Once you take out a Higher Power from the picture, it is impossible for the society to sustain itself (from the top down) ONLY based on human laws. They can be so easily changed and corrupted. True not everyone needs Higher Laws to obey human laws, but speaking in society in general it is mostly true and you have said so yourself.
This lady has some splanin to do I bet!!! At some point her and the left will bury this thing.
OH the truth finally comes out. It always rises to the surface sooner or later
This is probably nothing more than a protective instinct or something kicking in, but when I read that Ms. Sherrod lives in Albany, Georgia, I immediately recalled an incident that happened there during the general election. Black "caretakers" (my azz!) at an adult daycare center brought Down syndromers and other dev. disabled clients to the polls and forced them (yes, they were registered) to vote for BO. Jack, a DSer for McCain, had the presence of mind to tell his caretaker sister (to whom I as sole caretaker of my adult DS bro can relate), and they were featured on the local news. (I believe Fox reported this but none of the networks nor CNN did.)So I wonder, is there something nefarious in the air in Albany, Georgia?
I go one further. Seems to me Georgia was on of the places where a couple addresses connected to the many social security numbers BO's mother and grandmother had with to real estate dealings here. I seem to recall one of the social security numbers associated with BO was from Georgia. This is big. This has to do with money laundering and not racism, I suspect.
Actually, anyone over the age of 18 can vote, absentee in some states, regardless of their mental condition or lack of development. In our efforts to be "fair" to everyone, we are fast going to become "fair" to no one, except the elite ruling class.
Questions to the moronic middle of the road "independent" voter: Had enough hopey changey yet? Washed away all that pseudo guilt for things that happened 150 years ago? Still proud to tell your friends at the club that you actually voted for one of "those" people? Does it still "feel" good?
About the dev. disabled being eligible to vote: In his younger days, my brother was able to an acceptable degree to understand the basics of politics and govt. He's middle-aged now, and I believe he's exhibiting the onset of Alzheimer's (God help us!). Therefore, I turned in his voting card. However, Jack from Albany, Georgia, was sharp as a tack. He knew he'd been "snookered" (heh...), and boy was he pissed! Point is that these "caretakers" used even the mentally deficient to achieve their aim. "By any means possible."
