Of course the crime is up in NYC and of course shootings.. What does any one expect? When the Police are busy dealing with a shouting group of ''protesters'', it takes them away from their real job, and that of course is ''fighting crime'', and trying to prevent it. I have seen photo's and read comments from many ''bawling liberals'' about how the ''mean 'ol cop's'' are busting heads in the OWS protests. Even saw a photo of what appeared to be a Police Officer ''pepper spraying'' a kid, but of course the picture did not show what happened prior to the incident. Besides what responsible parent would take their Child into a situation that could become dangerous? If no Police were sent to the scene of the protests, they would be protests that the ''citizens'' were not being protected.. No win situation. As for the ''poor'' and ''minorites'', though this may sound ''cynical'' no one really cares about them at all except when it comes time for an election and their votes are needed.
Apparently the wrong people are being shot.
They are after all Communists...
Mayor Blowhard will use the carnage caused by the communist protesters he supports as an excuse to impose even more anti-gun laws on lawful Americans.

That is disgusting. But the neighborhoods are so racially charged, they are angry whenthe police are there, then angry when they aren't. Can't win for losing. Maybe that neighborhood should step up and start reportng the criminals amongst them.

While I am not ''up to date'' on the Laws in NYC concerning the ownership and concealed carry of firearms, the last I heard it was very much against the law and could get one in serious legal trouble if caught with a handgun on ones person.
As its been said many many times, the Criminal is not concerned with whats legal and whats not so will of course have a gun, with the knowledge that his intended victims who abide ''by the law'' will be be unarmed.
Its really sort of like tossing a Cat into a pen with a large pack of Dogs but ''telling the cat, he is not allowed to use his claws in self defense''
Exactly why this would neve happen in Texas or Arizona. The criminals know they are taking a chance that the other guy has a weapon too, and it may be bigger and faster than his.

If OWS is a pain in the ass then herd them all back to their dumpsters and basements. Send them home, if they have one. Politics let this get out of hand and now they can lick their wounds and go about business as usual. OWS tried this in my city. It didn't work. They packed up a scurried back into the cracks in the walls. Let them fend for themselves--they'll leave.
In Minneapolis the law enforcement leadership and idiot mayor is p'ing & moaning about all the money these occupy losers are costing in ot. No one has been arrested. Hey Mpls and Zoo York! Ignore the protesting assholes and the whole event will quickly deteriorate to anarchy and that will be the end of it. Who cares what happens to them, they'll get something they don't currently have, a real world education and a few lumps.
