Little known historical tidbit: sleazy RFK, as AG, got Reagan fired. That was in 1962, when the future president was hosting General Electric Theatre on CBS. Reagan never forgot and got his revenge by trouncing Robert Kennedy in a ground-breaking debate in 1967—trounced him so badly that the Kennedy family asked CBS to never release the video… which they haven’t to this day.

The video of Reagan and Kennedy is in color. The video from the UK is in a degraded black and white. The satellite to Europe must not have had enough bandwidth for color.

Good grief, can you believe the command of facts Reagan is demonstrating in the beginning of that clip? Meanwhile, the overall impression I get from that clip is that politicians used to actually discuss issues. We never see that anymore.
I don't remember GE Theater, but growing up as a kid we used to watch him (Reagan) host "Death Valley Days", and if I'm not mistaken he starred in a few episodes. OH, yeah--eff the Kennedys.
Death Valley Days. I remember it well. I also have spent a lot of time out in that part of the desert.
Have a friend who was taking a night time firearms training class in Pahrump (NV) and took a drive out there during the day in July. 129 degrees on the Visitors center gauge that day. I have no desire to live in the desert.
Some parts of the desert are nicer than others. I lived for over a decade in the Joshua Tree desert, right across the valley from the National Monument. I worked in the Palm Springs area most of the time, so I could see the difference daily between the two areas. Three thousand feet of elevation makes for a much nicer desert, cooler, prettier, less expensive.
Seems like Holder may have modeled himself after RFK.
I would pay good money to see that debate.

And I can't believe they held a debate by satellite - Reagan on one side of the country, RFK on the other, and questions from students in London - in 1967!
RFK was in on some sleazy shit as AG, & it may have contributed to why he was gunned sown in LA after the California primary.
