Well, I have to still give him the benefit of the doubt. He did indicate that he was sick of the "world" of espionage. His comments were not strictly about the US. But this is a blunder for sure, because it focuses everyone's attention back on why we need these systems in the first place. And, i think most reasonable people can agree that in today's world, they are needed.
My issue, and I think most people's issue is that the current admin can not be TRUSTED with having this information accessible to them, because they have proven that they will abuse any systems they can, to harm individuals who disagree with them, or who they perceive as "enemies".
Since the top layers of government are all dirty filthy cockroaches who have no restraints to prevent the illegal use of the systems, the information is not safe. Snowden has cracked open that nugget of information to at least SOME of the LIVs out there, and I still have to be grateful for that.
I figured he was high-strung and a bit naive, I didn't think he was suicidal. I'm thinking he's not long for this world.

Forcing the government to admit there is a system in place to spy on American citizens is one thing. But to show someone, anyone, how it was done? That is a whole different ball game. I'm afraid the boy just dumped a big load in his own nest.

Well, Sis, I'll say this in favor of some prog-libs: they loathe the politicization of surveillance powers as much as I do.
Perhaps because they are so pro-perversion and if a conservative government gets a hold of that power they wouldn't like that one bit for someone to watch them do what they do and perhaps use it against them. So yes that does seem to be a glimmer of non-hypocrisy which I do find surprising in a lib.
