Because the story is 3-1/2 years old.
So she should have been in jail for all that time. Again, clear discriminstion, but no 24/7 news coverage, no outrage, no demands for her to step down. There is plrnty of discrimination. Most of it is against the majority, regardless of race, color, or creed!

I don't know about Texas but here judges are elected to 4 or 6 year terms. If so, the people in her district can take care of the bimbo when her term is up.

I accessed it, but the damned page jumped all over the place, constantly trying to load more stories and ads. It was pretty maddening.
The question is: Why now? Why not do this 30 years ago? Gay marriages weren't recognized then, so wouldn't it have been a greater statement then?
Or, like everyone else, did she not believe in it then?
I'm sick of this wave of groupthink wherein people tell us "it's obvious" or "it's a no-brainer." If that's the case, then why haven't you always believed it?
They attack us for not going along with it. But we believe what we've always believed, while they pretend that their new idea is "obvious" and that they've always believed it.

The difference is that straight couples would say, "Good. I wouldn't want her to marry us anyway."
Because straight couples marry out of love, joy, and happiness. If you don't want to bake the cake or take our pictures, that's fine. We're actually happy you said something, because we want it to be a joyous occasion. So we'll find someone else - someone who will be a part of our event and someone we can trust to the very best job.
We don't marry to make a statement.
And religious straight couples would get married in a church anyway, not by a judge.
