Social Security: Trust fund in the red by 2033. Obama, Biden, Reid and Pelosi probably think this means the communist will administer it and that it’s a good thing.

I have read that SSI would still be viable, if not for the fact it was taken out of the "trust fund" and put into the general fund where every slimy SOB could write an I.O.U. to it.
I don't KNOW that to be true, but it would be in much better shape at this point.
You rang a bell from a couple years ago and I had to wade in and look for it. Reading it again, the numbers are staggering ( article's from '10), the part that starts about halfway down is pretty interesting.

Thanks, that seems to be the one I was thinking about.
Good article ghost.
The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.
What this means is that the debt would have been $2.5 trillion higher 2 years ago than it was. I hate to think where it is now.
I do know one thing, it looks like I'll have to go find a part time job when I'm 74. I hope Wal Mart is still hiring greeters then!
lol i can see it now...
poppajoe49: "Welcome to walmart. now git your s*i* and git out!"
I would also be a major contributor to peopleofwalmart.com!
ok, now i have something to enjoy laffin at for awhile. i've not been to that site in a long time. and the local walmart has more amish and menonite folk, and, as despised as they are by many up here, there's a good deal of decency in most shoppers manner of dress. I cannot say the same about the walmarts in the houston area.
Wal-Martians!
What an ironically cynical ploy, calling it a "trust fund" when "slush fund" would've been more accurate. Kinda like calling a whore house a convent... Or calling Pelosi "Honest Nancy".
