I used to work as a maintenance electrician there, and because the Six Flags company is so completely socialist and ignorant, I have no doubt that they consider this to be a fantastic idea. mario games
Wait, don't trees take in Co2 and release Oxygen. Nevermind, I'm just delirious because it's so hot here in Connecticut it's snowing.
Stop thinking, all it does is get you in trouble. Stoppit right now!
They must be planning on off setting the trees by purchasing carbon credit from snore gore.
Greentards to the rescue...It is okay to fry birds, chop them up and now make them homeless in the name of greentard energy...Let us gather round children, listen to the Goreacle and worship the plastic panel ad the plastic fan.....
So who is getting paid off by whom?Considering everything in Jersey is going out of business due to the tax rate, this will be a monument to the ultimate stupidity of big government...
I'd bet the farm we could find an "endangered species" in there, or "prove" it's an essential resting spot on some migratory path or other and tie them up in court for years.
I asked poppaj yesterday in Email about this, there's gotta be a way to find out; How much C02 doesn't get converted back to oxygen and stays in the air after whacking down 18,000 trees? Anybody?
I have a bit more insight to this situation.
It doesn't surprise me. I used to be a maintenance electrician there, and the Six Flags company is so totally leftist and stupid, that I believe they think this is a good idea. What I don't get is how they can get solar cells to generate 480V 3 Phase power, which almost every ride in the park requires. In fact, the pumps for the water rides are so powerful that I don't believe that they can run on solar. Maybe they can get the park lighting and the stores and restaurants to run on solar, but that would be about the limit. I don't even believe the massive refrigerators and freezers that store the bulk foods, or the air conditioning systems in the theatres, etc, can run on solar.
Totally leftist and stupid, remember these are the same folks that in Kalifornia had a Muslim day...
I don't think they can do it either, Poppa. And the park goes past dark and we know damn well they won't be generating any solar power after dark. I'm guessing they will generate only a tiny fraction of the electricity they need. This is all about the PC headlines and generating goodwill among their fellow lefties.
It's simple, they'll cut down another 1000 trees to put all those lead acid storage batteries, and inverters and use a crapload of pcb filled transformers.
750 tons of CO2 not sequestered*
7200 pounds of co2 not absorbed. per year pine trees**

Now paradise has to compete with solar power as well as parking lots.
And all that asphalt holds the heat and contributes to GlobullChaos.(that's why they put their little measuring stations right next to them)
Now I have coffee all over the screen. Hahahahahhahaah! This is too effing funny!
This hands down is my favorite story of 2015. It represents everything there is to know about the "green" movement.
