Stephanopoulos nonsense: “Americans want more debt and these record deficits are all Bush’s fault”

oreilly stephanopoulis

We were just beginning to think that liberals had finally put the “It’s George Bush’s fault” meme out to pasture. But then ABC host George Stephanopoulos showed up on O’Reilly’s show Monday night with a news flash:

Americans want more government spending. And, oh, by the way, that staggering debt is all George Bush’s fault.

Embarrassing. Absolutely embarrassing.

  • This is further proof that O'Reilly has gone soft.

Where was his challenge to this blame Bush nonsense?

How come he didn't challenge Stephanwhateveropolous on the disparity in his Good Morning America interviewing techniques, harassing conservatives like the little gnat that he is, while lobbing softballs to dems?
He's mentioned it b4 on the Factor, now, he gets the weasel in his chair and doesn't confront him on what he has pointed out in previous segments?

The downhill slide to appeasement and mediocrity has begun . . .

  • How about the meme that we are still paying interest off the Reagan debt? Too tiresome? Oh wait, its not a meme, its a matter of accounting. Presidents don't just vanish in history, they leave a very real legacy. Just like any of us have to deal with decisions made 20-30 years ago.

  • George Staphalocacus was a liar then and he's a liar now. If he falls off of the edge of the Earth I won't lose a moment of sleep.

    • Stephanopolous is a worm, employed by worms, in the business of deflecting attention from the fact that they are worms.

  • Nobody believes Geroge Stephanopolous anymore (except maybe Ed Schultz), I think he doesn't even believe himself. He's a pathetic political hack parroting the lies of the Obama administration. Anything he says should be greeted with derision and mocking laughter.

  • This is so weird since I could have sworn it was a Democrat-majority Congress that has held America's purse strings for the previous 4(!) years. What years has spending gone through the roof again? The last 4 or so? Weird!

    • Huge tax cuts, war spending, and Medicare plan D all occurred under republican congress and account for trillions of new debt. @%*$&#&$ partisans

  • Nope, George simply got the memo to revive the BOOOOOSH meme as the "Sneech" (Colmes) was spouting basically the same nonsense this morning.

Which means Tingles, Special Ed, Madcow and Crazy Larry will all be screeching it at the top of their lungs on MSLSD probably as soon as tonight.

  • Wow, can this cat be more ignorant? Americans WANT debt? What is this cat smoking? Can I get some?

  • What poor Georgie doesn’t say is the trend for less spending is upward. When the full impact of price increases for food and energy hit American families, I am quite confident that upward trend will accelerate. It’s so frustrating these idiots don’t seem to know where the money comes from that they so liberally squander. If, miraculously, they do have the brain power to comprehend, then they just don’t give a crap.

  • That's right George and I want a root canal and my finger nails pulled off with a pair of rusty pliers.

As for being George Bush's fault, they all need to get a new lie and line. It barry''s and his communist friends in congress fault and no one else

1-20-13 can not get here fast enough and the smell coming from the White House is pushed out into the cold and the back pages of history.

  • I'll give Bush credit for the $5 trillion he racked up in his 8 years in office, but I'll credit another $7 trillion to Obama in his first 2 years in office.
