This is like letting someone grade their own test. All the answers are right.
The sad thing is that he probably really believes that.
That means we can't call him a liar, because he really does believe it. Then again, if these political & media figures would ever leave The Beltway, Manhattan, The Hamptons, Cape Code, & Hollywood, they would discover that what most people live, & think would be almost like visiting a foreign country.
