Steyn: Future generations will laugh at us for taking Obama seriously. The king’s big speech on energy at Prince George’s Community College relies far too much on “Half-a-Dozen Surefire Cheap Cracks for Lazy Public Speakers.” Our POTUS is a phony, a blowhard, an empty suit, a joke. And the joke is on us.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • I take the opposite view. I do not think they will laugh at us at all.

I think they will dig us out of our graves, to choke and beat the shit out of our rotting corpses. Of course it won't do any good, but there will be a lot of therapeutic value in it.

  • Once again "Dear Leader" attempts to rewrite history in his asinine quest for votes from the terminally stupid.

  • I (heart) Mark Steyn.

Just one more Canadian who knows his American history better than the smartest American president in history.

You know what they say: we're just doing all the jobs that Americans won't do. ;)

  • They will wonder about us , just as those that wondered how the Germans could've ever had elected Hitler . What could the German's have ever seen ? New promises ? New hope ? A better way of life ? Didn't they see the early sign of what was coming ?

Then as now , they couldn't see . Didn't want to see . All the goodies that someone else was going to have pay for , YUP IT WAS WORTH THEIR VOTE . Trading something they did not value , for something even more worthless than that .

And yet , most are poised to do it all again.

    • That is what I have been saying recently, now I know how the average German felt in the 1930s. If 0bama gets a second term, sites such as this one and their posters will be under great pressure to conform and be one with 0bama.

Buy ammo and stay ungovernable my friends.

  • Obama is a joke, his Presidency is a joke, his foreign policy is a joke, his energy policy is a joke, his budget is a joke and his political beliefs are the biggest joke of all. The only things that aren't funny are his lame attempts at humor. "Humor" that involves the belittling others is the sign of an immature person,

But we elected this clown, so the joke is on us. The joke is also on those ingorant community college students who laughed and applauded Obama's
half assed, disparaging remarks; they'll vote for him in November, on their way to the unemployment line.

[P.S. by "we" I mean the American people in general.]

  • Yeah- Obummer told us exactly what he was going to do to america.
And when we showed concern over those warnings the liberals said it was "right wing fear mongering".

  • If things continue as they are and become unfixable, future generations will be too busy trying to figure out how to survive to spend that much time laughing at us for voting for Obama not even taking him seriously.

  • Nonsense! Future generations aren't going to have any opinions on Obama. They will be too busy scrounging for canned food in the rubble of old supermarkets and trying to get back the the hollow, crumbling buildings they call home before nightfall.

  • The idea Obama put forth the other day that a belief in a flat earth was widespread among educated Europeans at the time of Columbus is liberal professor lounge bull. I'm no more a fan of Wikipedia than anyone else here, but it does have this point correct.

"The misconception that educated Europeans at the time of Columbus believed in a flat Earth, and that his voyages refuted that belief, has been referred to as 'The Myth of the Flat Earth'. In 1945, it was listed by the Historical Association (of Britain) as the second of 20 in a pamphlet of common errors in history. ... During the 19th century, the Romantic conception of a European 'Dark Age' gave much more prominence to the Flat Earth model than it ever possessed historically."

Will anyone in the media call Obama on this liberal cliche bull he spoke when off the teleprompter? Obama's mention of a "Flat Earth" may also be a subtle jab at people of faith in an effort to work up his base.

My link isn't working at this moment, but I'm not sure there's a lot of interest here in linking to Wiki anyways and I don't blame anyone.

  • If only!

Future generations are going to be mad and saddened that the 52%ers were so stupid and let a single man, what used to be a free press, and a political party destroy the greatest nation in history. It will take decades to undo the damage that has been wrecked on us since January 2007.
