• I just had a thought. If everyone's healthcare expenses are going to double, or triple, or more, and healthcare expenses are tax deductible, aren't we going to need a tax hike to keep the rest of government going?

  • Healthcare will be deductable if you can exceed the standard deduction. I can't itemize now, and even if we hit the limit on my wife's healthcare, we still can't itemize. In other words, you will still be screwed.

      • A lot of children stop believing in Santa Claus because the toy they wanted and, didn't tell their parents about, didn't materialize under the tree. Heck many people do not believe in G-d because they ask for something and don't get it. So this behavior or belief system that some people have about thinks like healthcare, tells me that a lot of people consider the government to be a higher power.

        I can understand being disappointed at not getting something for essentially no effort after asking for it from a higher power. However even G-d Himself who, in my belief system, is capable of making stuff out of nothing, He doesn't just do that for no reason. In the Bible working for what you want is repeated over and over again and as one works with honesty and so on can find blessings from the Higher Power. Things just don't materialize out of nothing with no effort on a day to day basis, those things are called miracles and even miracles have to have a base on reality.

        So... these people that believe that healthcare is free or should be free and no one has to pay for it are morons who believe the govt is a higher power that won't demand their participation on the thing that they want. Morons all.

      The thing is that for the career voters to do what they do there needs to be someone else's money rolling in via gub'mint handouts and as Thatcher so eloquently pointed out (paraphrasing), the problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money and those who've bought into the racket will find their stream drying up and a few will actually be forced to comprehend the folly of what they had supported.

      Right now they can easily insulate themselves from the true nature of it with the help of the class warfare demagogues and their propagandists... promoting the fallacy of this being the product of taxing the rich with the health benefits being the spoils of the redistribution- though more likely this short term train wreck is by design- to pressure popular support for single payer.... which is what the criminal-in-chief wanted anyway.

      I see things getting a lot worse before they get better- and it's quite likely that my days will be lived out witnessing things bottom out- WAY too many are voting who are clearly unqualified to make any decisions and there's not enough resolve on the right to act- though the way the media deck is stacked any move against these goons would be characterized as domestic terrorism... the enemy has multiple heads- all of which would require being dealt with if this illegal usurping of the US gov't is to be meaningfully reversed. Reluctance is very understandable.

      There are enough people who voted for Obama who also desire the ability to determine their own destinies and not be reduced to relying on bureaucratic largess. I think the first order of business for conservatives who wish to use the electoral process to reverse the bloodless coup is to get together a straightforward message out about fundamental values- not the least of which is the value of accomplishing something yourself over relying on government handouts of other peoples hard earned money... then use some real world statistics that have not been conveniently sanitized by the left to properly visualize exactly what effect this is having on possibly attaining those values and most importantly, using Obama's own words prior to running for POTUS to illustrate that it is no accident.

      There's likely VERY good reason that he had his college records sealed... and THAT tidbit needs to be repeatedly discussed among the LIVs.
