  • Context? Only when it comes to Full-Bush or the Glennbeckistan crowd. There ain't no context when it comes to Obama. If the market goes sideways for a month or gas prices go up, its' on Obama, period. There is NO context. I'll be a dick, you go ahead and snark. I got over this site's bullshit threats and insults a long time ago.

  • C'mon, Insanity, you've been trying too hard and end up posting bullshit. The day Obama took office the Dow closed at 8,000.86. Today it closed at 13,279.32, up 60% in his first three years. The worst month? The Dow went from 13,213 to 13,279 this past month. You're also using The Ulster Report as a "White House insider" reference to make your argument that Obama was a non-factor in killing Bin Laden: Ulster is a Kool-Aid birther (like Formerly Dean [H]immmler) who claims that Obama is responsible for Gabby Giffords getting shot. You can pull your bullshit on the Glennbeckistan denizens of this Right Wing Nutt site that swallow your shit like choad, but the real world just laughs. Hammer Obama all you want, but save the bullshit for the freaks. And don't talk about the markets without posting hard numbers.

    • You are just all leftists, you understand nothing about making an economy work. You guys don't even understand Keynes, so it does'nt matter what anyone says.

BTW, the hard numbers are this, when the price of gold skyrockets, it says those buying it don't trust what they are seeing. They see the gov't spend insane amounts of money it does'nt have, & they see the Fed printing money, or creating it with 0's & 1's, you might see why gold has been going up. When fuel prices skyrocket, it hurts all parts of the economy. When the guns & ammo industry is booming, like it is since Obama was sworn in, it says there is a fundimental lack of trust in our gov't & it's attitude toward the American people.

All of what I listed are a direct result of people rejecting the Obama regime & it's heavy handed & unconstitutional governing style. Spin it any way you want, "Hope & Change" is a effing failure, & so is the President.

      • You're the perfect Nazi: always looking for a scapegoat or an excuse. Make all the excuses you want, but the Dow is the Dow and the numbers are there. But you turn to the gun/ammo industry as, what? Seig Heil!

        • A few things for Bitch Poops...

          1. A socialist calling someone a Nazi is comedy gold.

          2. Let me explain something to you fuckhead, folks in my family history were victims of Nazis & fled them, as well as the Bolsheviks. I need no lessons about totalitarian gov'ts, & maybe that's why I hate socialists, communists, facists, Marxists, Maoists, Stalinists, progressives, community organizers, street agitators, Occupy, & those who will enable them.

          3. I shall explain to you why the firearms industry is booming. Because people see that the regime does'nt respect their rights, but they love those advocating violence in the name of "fairness" & "social justice". They have seen these sorts of idiots target the homes of people they feel need to be targeted, & they will not let that happen to them. So I'll lay it out for you, it's only a matter of time before some OWS punk or union thug makes the mistake of confronting the wrong person at the wrong place & at the wrong time. Some worthless leftist will get shot dead in a clear case of self defence, & when it does happen, don't come here bitch about it. I don't want to hear it, consider yourself informed.

          4. Why don't you bone up on the US Constituion & put down "Rules for radicals", The Communist Manifesto", & "Mao's Little Red Book". Socialism has failed everywhere it's been tried, but considering you are probably wearing a Che T-shirt while reading this, telling you this is a waste of my time. It's not like you are going to see a benifit for supporting the socialist movement. Socialism is for the people, not the socialist. So good luck with all of that. Have a nice day, comrade.

        • Nazi? You mean like you? Mitchy Poopers, ain't you got nothing new? Always with the sexual remarks, Nazi Stuff or just the potty mouth, What are you like 12 years old with the mind of a 8 year old....You got a Nazi fetish...Bet you celebrate Adolph's birthday..Heil Mitchy Poopers.

        • Inflated currency equals inflated stock market. The market has not moved in real dollars for 12 years regardless of how often the 30 Dow stocks are changed. In fact, it is worth less in real dollars.

          • It moved DOWN under Bush, correct? Jan 20, 2001: 10,887.36, Jan 20, 2009: 7,949.09 or a loss of 27% over eight years of Bush. The Dow got clobbered on Bush's watch. You can give lots of reasons/excuses of which there are many; I'm just looking at the Dow scoreboard. Do you agree with those hard dates and numbers? Yes or no. That's all I'm asking.

          • The 2008 meltdown wrecked the market. Before that when the dot com bubble burst the NASDAQ went from 5000+ to 1800. Point is that the money supply (two rounds of monetizing debt has seriously damaged the dollar's value) is much greater now than even three years ago so the hard numbers are only meaningful if adjusted for inflation and we are not doing that here. The market is flat to down since 2001 when adjusted. The peaks and valleys in between are only important if you are a market timer but if you are a long-term investor, you are not making much with equities these days in real dollars.

          • I asked such a simple question and get spin for an answer. I'm just looking at the scoreboard, that's all. Just the numbers. I was kidding myself in believing I'd get a straight answer. I forget, this is Glennbeckistan: a delusion. Shame on me.

          • The internet of old when information was at your finger tips is gone.

Information now is spread through out the net. There is no concentration of people on any particular ISP.

I've posted two good investment links in here, and THAT's IT.
I will NOT go beyond that. I want the investments to stay in this country, and subsequently get people back to work in this country.

Even to my own party I have said NO.

          • Simple question has a more complicated answer. It isn't spin it is reality. Have you ever studied economics? Seriously? Can't help it of the answer is beyond you but it is accurate. I also answered w/o snark. Don't be a dick with me and I will continue to answer w/o snark.

The scoreboard means nothing without context. Or is that not important to you because you would rather compare apples to oranges to suit your argument?

Hey, did you know that movies cost a nickel in 1935 and now it is $10.00? Which is the more expensive ticket price?

          • Let's not forget the downturn after 9-11. The market was in the 7000 range.
Bitch doesn't study economics because it requires more than 2 functioning brain cells.

  • You have to be nuts to ride a bubble anyways. Sure you can make a fortune, but you can also lose a fortune, and I'm Conservative in more ways than one.

Plus with the directories I have? Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy. I stayed with what I know, and some of the directories that I did for friends over seas.

That are NOT on here at all.

poppajoe49 you hit the nail right on the head there. "The whole thing with the markets is timing and watching where you invest."

  • I took all of our investments out of market based funds back during the Clinton admin, and put them into money markets. It happened when the Dow hit 11,000 and I thought to myself that the runup was too fast and unsustainable. About 2 weeks later everything tanked and our retirement savings were safe, maybe not earning as much as before, but not losing anything. My wife fought me on the move, right up until the market tanked and she saw how much everyone else that had been enjoying the Clinton Bubble was losing.
Shortly after 9-11, I put about 1/2 of it back in the markets and let it run until after the 2004 election, then took it out again. It sounds like a very risky move, but it worked out great. I just wish we had more invested at the time. The whole thing with the markets is timing and watching where you invest. We never put our money in any funds that had less than a 12-25 year track record. All those funds that were relatively new were created just to ride the current wave, and weren't long term runners.

    • Consider looking into munis instead of money markets. You can get a pretty solid 5-7% return that is not subject to federal tax! Figure in the tax savings and your return goes higher than the coupon rate on the bond. They are really hard to purchase right now tho. Avoid bonds from blue governed municipalities and states if possible.

      • Munis scare me. Too many cities going belly up. I know they have a better return, but if they go BK there is no return.

    • Oh, and I still kick myself for not pulling the trigger and buying Taser in 2003 when it was 3.50, it split 3 for 1, 2 for 1, and 2 for 1 then ran up to over 135.00 a share. Each of those shares bought pre split would have been worth over $1600.00 and I could have retired then!

  • Since you mentioned Africa, I just got to have a little bit of fun old net style on you all.

    Allafrica.com

30 years online. What you folks have to deal with is sad in terms of how the net is structured right now.

Nowadays I don't post like this anymore cause I want the investments to stay in this country, and not else where.

  • Here comes another round of "Quantitative Easing". But not to worry, inflation will still remain mild, on Mars maybe.

  • Part of this is a seasonal trading pattern ("Sell in May and go away") but the market is also coming to grips with double-plus ungood economic news... Spain tipping back into recession, growth slowing in China, "unexpectedly" weak GDP and employment numbers here. Expect to see Osama Bin Laden's name mentioned quite a bit this summer.

    • Wonder how many more dead "Al-quada #2 men" they'll be able to trot out in front of the cameras?

  • There is no recovery, there never has been one. It has been $6 trillion in deficit spending and $3 trillion in off the books loans from the Fed. Probably more like $10 trillion in the last 31/2 years in funny money. That is a huge overhang and has sucked the private sector dry.

  • The whole charade of the markets for the last 4 years or so is a joke. There has been zero volume-ZERO-so the numbers up or down mean almost nothing. The markets are non-existent, but for the super major, super successful congloms like GE, Apple, etc-who have enough products that are recession proof. Most of the up-swing has been because of APPLE for a long time-and will continue to be so, because none of the little old ladies, or pensions are in equities-and haven't been for a very long time.

This is all fluff! The economy globally is kaput-this is a fleece job by the lefty media to try to make you comfortable while barack and the rest of the globalist/marxists stick it right up your ass!
