        • Turkey is "constitutionally" a secular country. In practice it is a Muslim country. Major Churches were destroyed and desecrated and then remodeled as Mosques. Muslims are expected to keep it real Islamic... okay fine ... but so must everyone else UNLESS you are in very specific areas where you are allowed to not keep it real Islamic :-/ .. Which is the same in other Muslimlands that are supposedly "Progressive" and "Moderate" like the Emirates. Once you are in the culture you are expected to keep it real, you aren't really free to be you (there are exemptions which mainly have to do with you having considerable money at your disposal).

          What about the Western woman who disappeared in Turkey? Never heard again about her case. She wasn't the only one who has disappeared in Turkey it is what I was told. There are countless stories of women who bought the story of the Progressive or Moderate Muslimland (take your pick) and went there to vacation or work and were raped or robbed or both or kidnapped there was an attempt on their lives and some of them actually go to prison for "allowing" themselves to be raped in the eyes of the religion of pieces.

          I do believe that there are some Muslims who really don't want to have anything to do with the evil perpetrated by others, however they are still cowards and do nothing and speak nothing against them.

          Also being a Muslim has nothing to do with race so any troll that suggest racism against Islam is an idiot.

Interestingly, the NYTs likened the political/religious atmosphere to a frog in a gradually warming pot of water. I think that is accurate as the PM tries to rewrite their constituion.

          • Turkey is the best of both worlds for some people, free to be Muslim (and have a cultural majority), but able to live like an European, impossible to do if Turkey becomes an Islamic state/Sharia state. If people there fail to act, sharia will take over and it will be too late.

          And, yes, vacationing in a Muslim country is hardly the same thing as being an expert on Islamic culture. Then again, it beats the heck out of the experience of some bozo in New Jersey, whose only information about Islam comes from reading manipulative right wing propaganda on the internet.

          At the very least, I'm living evidence that a lone woman can wander unaccompanied through a 99.7% Islamic nation without being raped, beaten, ostracized, or even scolded for not wearing hijab. And guess what? There are many, many visitors to Turkey who have had the same experience.

          Evidence enough (Istanbul is the 6th most visited city in the world) that it's not Islam itself, but violent political factions abusing religion as a means to gain political control, that is the problem.

          Now, tell me all about YOUR personal experience interacting with Muslims, that makes you so sure you're qualified to make such generalizations.

          Or you could just admit that you're programmed to embrace bigotry, and leave it at that.

    Slow down a bit here. This woman was going to be beaten, then hanged, for the crime of not being a Muslim. Not by a few local loonies, but by a government. The government of an entire country. Elected by the people of that country. Muslim people.

    • Even though she never practiced Islam, was never a Muslim and was raised a Christian, somehow that wasn't a problem until AFTER she married a Christian man. So her crime was adultery because she was expected to marry a Muslim man regardless of her actual life history. Her crime was indeed not being a woman willing to marry a Muslim man. Since she explained that she was a Christian, then they asked her to recant her beliefs in order to legitimize their claims on her (that as a woman she should have married a Muslim man) and essentially added the apostasy charge when she refused. Even though she was NEVER a Muslim. So it didn't really matter what her personal beliefs were, just as long as she married a Muslim man and carried a Muslim child. Women are essentially property then. They have no rights to themselves and on their own, even if they are not UNDER the religious laws per se BECAUSE they don't practice the religion.

      A non muslim woman (and many like her, many males) are in prison in Dubai in the past and right now for violating religious laws. This is why governments cannot use religious laws FOR EVERYONE to follow. Religious laws should be personal choices that one takes upon oneself. Sure one can talk about it and share it with others but not force it upon others because then is that really faith? or is it compulsion under threat of death or dismemberment? The the belief is not real. Muslims don't care though.

      Nations with Christian majorities got to the point where Christians can be in the majority of population, but allow others who aren't to live their lives as long as universal laws are respected. Islam is LONG ASS overdue to get to that point. They never will. They want control over humanity in order to please their freak god who isn't really a god at all, but a freak bent on world domination because it mad it got kicked out of heaven for being a freak.

      This is the thing, the goal of Islam is world control and all being under the Islamic banner. It is not a fringe, that is why most Muslims even if they claim to be moderate do nor say anything, because they want to be in a position where, when it happens, they are okay and protected because they were part of it first and weren't made to be like the rest of the population.

  • She is an American citizen by marriage. She should have never been in prison in the first place and the US should have fought for her.

    No matter, the prayers of G-d's people open the door so the Spirit could move and do what He does, and I hope that we who pray remember all of those who are persecuted in our prayers. There are very many and they are not US citizens so you can just imagine how it is for them.

    This woman was imprisoned with her two year old son while pregnant, had the baby a month early. Was shackled to the ground so she couldnt stand. That prison is known for being a place where children go to die and prisoners are sick due to overpopulation and unsanitary conditions.

    This was not an easy ordeal for her. She was raised by her Christian Mother, she knew herself as a Christian woman, she knew nothing of her Muslim Father and she married a Christian man. She is an American citizen, she should never have been judged according to MUSLIM law. She was never a Muslim and therefore never an apostate and this BS that if your Dad is a Muslim you are a Muslim is just that BS.

    G-D is going to take care of all of these people one way or another even if they are martyred and take care of their persecutors.

    I feel horrible for her and all other brothers and sisters who are persecuted.

    This is the real war on women.

    I am happy she is out or on her way out and I hope that others come out as well. Yes I do think that Obama might try to take credit after being silent about this, I hope he doesn't though.
