I wish the judge (or opposing attorney) would ask the ACLU or whoever argues that this "discriminates" against minorities to bring one person who does not have a photo ID and has tried but could not get a FREE ID card. The ACLU and libs spout numbers that have no meaning. Bring in the actual people who will be "disenfranchised" if the ID law is upheld. Oh, wait. They don't exist.
But I have seen storis where someone was held as an example of the disenfranchised, only to find they had ID, were registered, and voted regularly! In Texas, the vast majority of registered voters do not vote. And that is from the tiny pool of those that are eligible and registered. Many eligible voters don't even register, much less vote. And all along, if you did not have proof of registration, you were allowed to vote provisionally. This election, if you don't have one of the 8 varieties of acceptable ID, you can vote provisionally and come up with a valid ID later. Funny how its only Democratic voters who will be disenfranchised and not able to obtain ID. One would think it would affect ALL voters, from any party.
Funny thing, when I moved to Florida, I got a drivers license and they asked me if I wanted to register to vote also. I did and they issued Voters Registration ID on the spot.
I see LaRaza, Chicano por La Causa and all those people going everywhere in in barrios of Phoenix handling out voting ballets to illegals that havent been here for a week telling them to get an English speaking latino to fill out their ballots and zippo. they just voted. They are voting for who they want without the voter even knowing who it is. FRAUD. This is happening by the 100's of thousands here. That's why they cried so loud about legalizing voter ID here. When voter becomes LEGAL a whole lot of balance will happen and we can get many of these liberal communist out of office here.l Sure, there are pro- illegal officers from the top down here but that can change over time. I've been in Arizona 35 years and politics has been one big circus. It's time to clean this mess up. Crime deterrant is good. I love the sheriff. He runs a "Don't Come Back Here Jail" Where anywhere in America do they have inmates living in rat and virus infested mattresses with leaking damaged 1940's Korean Army tents surrounded by double 10 foot razorwire topped fenches in 115 degree temperatures during the summer with bedroom sized fans for cooling?(2 per Tent) Eating green bologna sandwiches and mistery loaf for chow. A bag with 5 potatoe chips and a moldy undersised orange all donated (throwaway) food. Jail is not nice here. But don't worry, if you have an "ID", you can vote. Maybe they will put inmates in the RITZ someday.
The rest of us should be lucky as to have a Sheriff Joe.

That is exactly correct. Like every other issue, they weaponize minorities in order to achieve their goals. In this case that goal is widespread voter fraud and stealing elections.
There was someone on FOX News this morning saying how this will be overturned after the midterm election. Supposedly, this law was proven in court that it was a racist based law, and the only reason it was upheld now is because of the law preventing voting law changes within a certain timeframe of the election. However, there are minor changes to the wording that will make it hold up in court, no matter what Holder or his successor try to pull.
It has been identified as illegal poll taxing, but the higher court issued a stay on changing it forvthe upcoming election because voting starts Monday. DPS is staying open extra days and hours to provide id's, even though people have known they needed an id for months.
It isn't a poll tax when a government ID is free of charge. Bottom line is if you are so irresponsible that you attain majority age status and fail to acquire an ID, then you have no business voting. Period.
The ID is free, I think. But you have to show a valid birth certificate or some documentation of naturalization. You have to pay for birth certificates. 20 bucks here. I don't know for other states.
Since one needs valid ID for virtually everything, the argument that an ID is a barrier to voting is crap. ID is a requisite need in any society.
This will come to a head as the Constitution is silent on voting; therefore it is a 10A issue. Liberal judges torture the 14A to perpetuate voter fraud and election theft.
Ruth Buzzy has always found fault with those who apply themselves and raise up above the challenges facing them. She and the other two witches on the court only see racism on all issues that come before the court. Maybe they will have some Holy Water spilt upon them and melt away.
I saw some of what Ginsberg wrote in her dissent. Basically, she and the harpies on the court (the three women were the dissenters) have concluded that everyone but white people and Asians are too stupid to be able to acquire ID.

Good for the Supreme Court, they actually go it right. As for the AP BS claim that a half a million will be turned away due to not having acceptable identification. Well if they've got a utility bill and a state issued photo id, there you go. Then they can vote. Its when the so called disenfranchised show up and wish to vote and can't prove that they are 1st. LEGAL 2nd are eligible to vote they get turned away and NO VOTE for YOU.

Even illegals have driver's licenses, social security cards, green cards everything. They may be fake, butbthey have them.

Okay over 25 years in law enforcement, I can count on one hand the number of people who did NOT have some kind of ID. I call BULLSHIT on this one. Everything from a social security card to a medical card to a check cashing card with their picture on it. The illegals have no problem getting a fake ID, I have seen hundreds, and even Mexico will issue a photo ID for the illegals here. These folks they are claiming are so disenfranchised will whip out an ID at the liquor store, check cashing store, or for the police at the drop of a hat. This whole factoid is BULLSHIT. Hell we recently busted a fake id ring. They were making ids so good that if they hadn't gotten stupid and given the same number to three people who just happened to come in together. All three shared a house and got busted together when they were involved in an accident.
They'd still be cranking out those ids and charging 1200-1500 per.
